Florida wedding reception turns into stoner fest for unsuspecting guests

A Florida bride and her wedding caterer were arrested after they appeared to have laced the wedding feast, including lasagna, with weed, leaving several guests sick and likely leaving many more wondering what the heck was going on.
Several guests at the wedding felt strange after dinner, some reporting tingling feelings and wild thoughts, while others were sure their hearts would stop, the Washington Post reported.

The bride, Danya Shea Svoboda, and her side-kick caterer, Joycelyn Montrinice Bryant, have been charged with culpable negligence, supplying marijuana and violating Florida’s Anti-Tampering Act.
According to affidavits released by various Florida outlets, Svoboda “consented with Joycelyn Montrinice Bryant and allowed her to flavor the food she was serving with cannabis without the knowledge of the attendees, many of whom became very ill and need medical help”.
When Seminole County lawmakers were called to the community center where the wedding reception was being held, several guests were already being treated by the county fire department for “symptoms consistent with those of a person who has used illegal drugs.”
The groom’s giveaway
When a proxy asked the bride and her new spouse if they requested or consented to the cannabis-infused meal, the new husband Andrew “stared at (the proxy) with a blank expression for a few moments before he was followed by a ‘no’. stuttered.” which probably should have been a surefire sign that the groom had eaten too much lasagna, which later tested positive for THC.
Paranoia runs deep… and it’s uncomfortable
According to the affidavits, a woman told an investigator that while she was in the hospital she felt paranoid and “believed that her husband … wasn’t telling her the truth about other family members,” and that her son-in-law had died and no one told her.
Using secret ingredients of any kind is no joke
“Think of the dangers of unknowingly drinking alcohol and then driving. Additionally, what if one of your guests has given up drinking or drug use? Is “fun” being the reason they broke their sobriety? Once someone’s state of consciousness is unknowingly altered, the consequences of what they do next are upon you,” wrote The Takeout.
Both Svoboda and Bryant were released from the Seminole County Jail and will face charges in June.
