Experts now recommend wearing this type of face mask

We’ve lived next to face masks for two years. Of course we have developed our preferences for them. And anyone who is in the fabric mask warehouse should find out about a new study that shows how much more effective disposable masks are in comparison.

The study, conducted by researchers from Yale and Stanford University, showed that surgical masks far outperformed cloth masks in terms of protection. Surgical masks filter out 95% of virus particles, while fabric stains only filter 35% of them.

CNBC has ranked the most useful disposable masks, starting with KN95, which offer the strongest protection against the virus. If not available, polypropylene surgical masks are the next best option. Topping up these is the smartest choice, especially since they are relatively cheap.

While the use of disposable masks creates a significant amount of waste, especially since so many people use them, they offer more protection. However, it all depends on the scenario. If you like cloth masks and they are more comfortable for you, you can still use them in low risk situations, such as when shopping for groceries or when you go to places where there are not many people and you can keep your distance from them.

After all, how well the mask fits makes a huge difference, regardless of the mask fabric. Make sure that the mask of your choice has a bridge of the nose that can curve over your nose and that the mask fits snugly against your chin and the sides of your face.
