Eating this food can help prevent wrinkles

“Vitamin E is a vitamin, but also an antioxidant,” she said. “That means it can help protect cells, including skin cells, from free radical damage. Not only does this improve the appearance of the skin as it ages by reducing wrinkles and smoothing out pigmentation, but it also helps reduce the damage that can lead to skin cancer. “

The study, published in the journal Nutrients, was conducted by researchers from the University of California studying the effects of consuming almonds and their effects on wrinkles, skin pigmentation, sebum production, and skin hydration in women with Fitzpatrick skin types I and II. The researchers conducted a randomized controlled study that lasted 24 weeks and divided participants into two groups. Women had a granola bar or serving of almonds as a snack, which made up 20% of their daily caloric intake. These results were then compared and analyzed for the study. Participants who snacked on almonds saw a 16% reduction in the severity of wrinkles. Skin tone irregularities were also reduced by 20%.

While these results suggest that almonds do something for skin rejuvenation, there are some caveats. The study was conducted on a small sample of women, all of whom were fair skinned and easily burned.
