Does vaping marijuana smell?

With recreational marijuana legal in 23 states and 40 for medical use, more and more people are adding it to their evening enjoyment. A survey conducted by New Frontier Data found that participants between the ages of 18 and 24 largely preferred cannabis to alcohol (69%). Approximately 43+ million adults use cannabis annually. And they don’t do it all alone.

The main way people consume is through flowers. Bowls, bongs and joints remain popular and embody the “essence” of the plant. You can almost smell the story.

The second most popular way is vaping. In 2021, there were an estimated 55 million e-cigarette users worldwide. Twenty percent of 18-29 year olds use e-cigarette products, compared to 16% of 30-64 year olds and less than 0.5% of those 65 and older. This is a much easier and more discreet way to consume marijuana, but the question is: does it smell?

While vaping does smell, the scent doesn’t last as long as it does with joints, bowls, and bongs. Rather, the vapor dissipates very quickly, so the odor disappears almost immediately as it arises. In large indoor and definitely outdoor spaces, it’s not as disruptive to the people around you and much more accommodating, so everyone has a good time.

Kim Ring, cannabis publicist and founder of Ring Relations, shared: “I think if you’re outside the smell isn’t necessarily going to be portly and annoying, but if you’re in a small space and smoking a vape pen, there is good chance he’ll perform.” I’ll smell for a little while. However, it will not necessarily linger like a flower. To be honest, cinema is fine. If you go to the cinema, take one of the corner seats upstairs. Personally, I’ve never seen anyone kicked out for using e-cigarettes.”
