Does Kevin Bacon use weed?
He's the ideal rebel for a generation – but is Kevin Bacon using weed?
He is a symbol of rebellion – his pivotal role in the film Footloose shaped the music and rebellious tone of a generation. The classic film is about a teenager's desire to dance that changed the way a small town thinks. When it first aired, marijuana was not legal anywhere in North America. The film was filmed at Payson High School in Utah, and now Bacon returns to the school's prom on the 40th anniversary of the premiere. And boy, have things changed. In 2018, Utah approved and began legalizing medical marijuana, a first step toward recreational use. Now patients can dance and consume in Payson.

Bacon's career continued in genres as diverse as Frost/Nixon, X-Men: First Class, Crazy Stupid, Love and I Love Dick Six Degrees. There's even a fun game/meme by Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon where players try to connect actors or people to others within six connections – and the fewer connections, the better. Is Kevin using bacon after all that weed and chill?
The answer is: Bacon cut away and enjoy the plant. He is very open about it and shares it. “Different people react to it differently,” Bacon said. “I'm fine as long as I'm in a super, super safe situation… I have to be like in bed or something's going on. Like at work, never, never, never…otherwise I can get a little paranoid.”
But sometimes things happen. Kevin Bacon revealed to Seth Meyers that he got high on marijuana with his co-star Daniel Stern before filming a scene for the '80s hit Diner. Thinking they have the day off, he and Stern go to the cinema to relax and watch a movie. At times during the film he was asked to return to the set. Stern didn't need it, and the laughter is completely absurd.
“I was fine. Turns out the scene was just me running around in the background or something like that. Plus, the adrenaline lifted me straight up,” Bacon said.

Krya Sedgwick, Bacon's wife, shared that she got high while preparing for a role with him. Marijuana is a great material help, perhaps it is one of the reasons why the Hollywood couple has been together for 35 years. They appeared in numerous films together, including Space Oddity, which starred Sedgwick and Bacon.
It's great that Bacon continued the fight to open people's minds to new things.
