Do you have the nibbles? 5 recipes you can make right now
Stoners and munchies have been at war for centuries. In fact, this fight has been going on since the first joint was lit. We are here to defeat the evil munchies and their shameful grip on all stoners once and for all. Check out these recipes that you can now make with very few ingredients.
Food, food everywhere, but not a crumb to eat
Have you ever moved from the refrigerator to the pantry and back again because you can’t decide what to eat? I do this several times a week – and often – before sinking on the couch and scrolling endlessly for recipes that not only satisfy my cravings but also have the right ingredients. Everything to stow the dreaded can of cauliflower soup in the cupboard for another meal.
It may seem like you have nothing to eat when you shut door by door in this seemingly barren kitchen, but I’m here to prove to you that imagination and ingenuity go a long way. No matter what the circumstances, you can serve yourself a treat. Because if the grocery store is too far, or you are short of money to order ̶ on days when all other options are out of the question, you can always cook, no matter what you have in stock.
Honey-mint-citrus salad

This citrus salad recipe from Emily Bites is as refreshing as it is good. There is little that can match the splash you get from peeling fresh citrus fruits on a hot summer day. This dish has more than enough citrus to get you back to the misty station of a summer music festival. I find it hard to name a better starter salad than one with citrus fruits, and this recipe comes back often.
How to raise the dish: This recipe calls for a tablespoon of honey. Check out our video from The Wellness Soldier to learn how to make cannabis-infused honey.
Spinach and apple salad with maple vinaigrette
It’s no secret that I love salads. This salad from Saving Room for Dessert balances savory goat cheese with sweet apple and red onion for a bite. In a word, this dish is decadent. I am often drawn to light but filling meals like this because I don’t like to be logical when I have something to do. A good meal should give you energy to get on with your day instead of robbing you of the will to move.
How to raise the court: In the same video mentioned above, The Wellness Soldier covers lifting your maple syrup. Try this dish. You won’t regret it, I promise.
Seitan
Okay, big disclaimer here: I’ve eaten seitan in restaurants but never fully understood what it is or how it’s made. That is, until I, like so many others, spent my pandemic falling into the deep algorithmic abyss of TikTok. Suddenly I got seitan recipes left and right that only required flour, water and the biggest hits on my spice rack. After doing some research on Youtube, I came across the most comprehensive and unpretentious video I could find on the subject (courtesy of The Viet Vegan). Basically, this is a chicken substitute that you can almost always make regardless of your pantry.
How to raise the dish: You could give the frying oil medication, but honestly it’s just flour and water. Light a J.
Baked macaroni and cheese
Macaroni and cheese are a heavenly combination. Just the thought of the creamy cheese, which is protected by a crispy baked shell, makes my mouth water. There is little I have to say about this dish to convince you to try it. Unless, for some reason, you can’t enjoy this dish. If so, I am deeply sorry. If you’re in the mood, this Southern Plate recipe is best eaten on a cool day when you have nothing to do.
How to raise the dish: Do you remember what I said about the logic of feeling? Well, this food is almost certainly going to blow your mind. That makes it the perfect candidate for CLN’s official cannabutter recipe (as provided by The Wellness Soldier). Replace all four tablespoons of butter (and why not flour?) With our medicinal alternative. Hey, that’s a good excuse to write off the rest of the day.
Creme brulee

What meal would be complete without dessert? If you want to flex your culinary muscles or impress someone with a delicious treat, make the crème de la crème of cream-based desserts with a classic crème brûlée. Whether you want to pamper your dinner party guests, a date, or just want to pamper yourself (because you know you deserve it) this is the dish for you.
How to elevate this dish: This time around, both our recipe and the upscale item come from our very good friends at The Wellness Soldier.
Good Appetite
All five of these dishes together make a slightly incongruous but satisfying five-course meal. And in all honesty, once you’ve eaten every medicinal dish, you’ll just be happy to be seated in front of a diverse selection of foods to suit every taste you might crave.
