Check out how the 2018 Farm Bill leaves an opening for hemp-based THC.
It’s 2022, but the Farm Bill of 2018 is still shaking things up in the US cannabis market. In the years since the bill went into effect, products rich in hemp-derived CBD, delta-8-THC, delta-10-THC, and other emerging cannabinoids have become widely available thanks to enterprising individuals and companies in the booming hemp sector.
Recently, some brands in the hemp space have embraced the flexibility of the Farm Bill, developing products that are as close to a traditional THC experience as possible for a national audience.

Are Delta-9 THC products legal?
The short answer: yes, some products containing delta-9-THC are legal! However, it’s a bit more complicated. The status of these products depends on individual THC ratios and the plant source of that THC.
When the Farm Bill was passed in 2014, it allowed very limited cultivation of industrial hemp for research programs. This was dramatically expanded by the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, also known as the Farm Bill 2018, which legalized the cultivation of hemp at the federal level. Thanks to this, anyone with the land, the means and the know-how could grow hemp. The legislation also stipulated that the hemp produced and products made from it must contain less than 0.3% delta-9-THC by dry weight, distinguishing industrial hemp (often used to make rope and similar textiles) from cannabis plants, grown specifically with hemp is the target of THC delivery.

Of course, like its stronger cousins, hemp is a member of the cannabis plant family and as such contains a spectrum of cannabinoids (the active chemical compounds found in cannabis plants) that researchers and breeders began to study, process, and process more freely market as a result of the new flexibility allowed by the Farm Bill.

Hemp is finally legal. Let’s see if it can save the world
Because of this, hemp-based CBD products of all kinds quickly began to fill the market, and products containing delta-8 and delta-10 THC – cannabinoids found in trace amounts in and from hemp and cannabis plants – soon followed they can be synthesized in CBD isolate to create products that experience the unique effects of these rare cannabinoids. With the ratio constraint that federally legal hemp products contain no more than 0.3% delta-9-THC by dry weight, many manufacturers are currently choosing to either completely remove delta-9-THC from their extracts or downplay its role to a smaller supporting portion downplaying the full value. Spectrum Products.

Delta-9 THC is the cannabinoid that most cannabis users know and love, and is responsible for the euphoric high that comes from smoking bud or consuming other typical THC products in legal recreational or medicinal states like vape cartridges and edibles . While it is perfectly legal in some states, it has yet to be fully legalized at the federal level.
However, some hemp producers, like The Hemp Doctor, have been able to use the 0.3% Delta-9 THC restriction to their advantage. As long as they can ensure their hemp products meet this ratio requirement, they can offer products containing appreciable amounts of delta-9-THC to a national audience.
Cannabinoids and the entourage effect
Many hemp products contain isolated forms of cannabinoids such as CBD, Delta-8, Delta-10, and others that are synthesized in laboratories and offer the limited effects of the individual cannabinoid in question. But the isolate method doesn’t work for hemp-based delta-9-THC, as the resulting product would obviously violate the ratio restriction of no more than 0.3% delta-9-THC.
Full-spectrum hemp products are made from the entire hemp plant, resulting in products that contain a variety of members of the wonderful cannabinoid family. This reflects more of what Mother Nature intended – if you smoked whole bud, you would experience the combined effects of all these cannabinoids working together. Full-spectrum hemp extracts also give you this combined effect.
This phenomenon is called the entourage effect. Unlike products made with cannabinoid isolates, full-spectrum products feature an entourage of cannabinoids that deliver more natural cannabinoid effects through blends with balanced amounts of CBD, THC of all strains, CBG, CBN, and CBC.
The full-spectrum production method also allows manufacturers to develop products that contain delta-9-THC within federal legal limits – by adjusting the ratio of delta-9-THC to other cannabinoids and the dry weight of the resulting product to be accurate Getting the right proportions – This allows for legal sale nationwide, even if your state of residence has laws prohibiting the sale of cannabis-derived THC products.
