Cheeba Chews Review: Cheeba Chews THCV Toffee
Cheeba Chews is an infused toffee brand available in five states: California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Nevada, and Massachusetts. In each region, the flavor palette includes strawberry, sour apple, caramel, and chocolate toffee with either sativa, indica, hybrid, 2:1 (Cheeba Chews sleepy), or 1:1 cannabinoid formulations. Depending on region regulations, certain products contain alternative cannabinoids such as CBN or THCV, or are available as strain-specific edibles.
On a recent weekend trip to Denver, I picked up two flavors of Cheeba Chews: a THCV chocolate toffee and a live rosin-infused, strain-specific strawberry toffee. After being blown away by the top-notch flowers in Denver, I had high expectations of the Chews.
In many ways they delivered, but in other ways they were amazing. Here’s what I found.

First impressions
The Cheeba Chews brand is bright, bold and recognizable, with bright colors and a distinctive font style. The toffee packets are similar in shape to a Hershey bar, but about three times thicker. Once in hand, however, the weight was far from what I was expecting based on the visual impression.
These packets did not contain thick blocks of toffee; Instead, they contained plastic portion packs that, at first glance, looked no different than something you would prescribe in a pharmacy. It took me a lot longer than I expected to get my first 5 milligrams, which was discouraging because I have a comfortable 50 milligram THC tolerance for edibles and very clumsy fingers.
I wonder if this packaging is the result of the brand complying with interstate regulations and streamlining packaging to be consistent across multiple regions. It was annoying nonetheless.
Chews with TCHV charged energy
I took the toffee formulated with THCV on a spring mountain hike with my family. The all-weather packaging, while annoying, also felt kind of handy from inside a foggy forest. These can be a good addition to an adventurer’s day pack; If the adventurer fell into a river, surely the edibles would survive unscathed.
Once in my mouth, the toffee didn’t feel like a tootsie roll. And I love Tootsie Rolls so this felt like a win, especially considering how much work it took to get the first dose and how much more I would have to do to reach my desired dose.
Once the effects kicked in, around 20-35 minutes after ingestion, the high felt airy and euphoric, but not necessarily hyper-energetic. Though my headspace was glittery and pink, I wasn’t any springier than I otherwise would have been and still had to pant through the last few feet of the climb. Of course, your results may vary.

Strawberry toffee infused with live rosin
Cheeba Chews Strawberry Toffee came in the same pharmaceutical-style bubble packs as the THCV ones. However, these portions are light pink, which makes the whole unboxing element that much weirder. I popped a few before spending the afternoon treasure hunting at an out-of-town mall, and figured the nostalgia for having strawberry toffee between my teeth went well with the nostalgia for antiques.
There’s an uncomplicated candy flavor profile in these chews, and while they’re strain specific, there’s not even a hint of cannabis flavor. The effect was mild and manageable, with a tingling body high and a calming head high. for Laffy Taffy lovers, this edible should satisfy that particular craving.

bottom line
The packaging as a whole was awkward, from the simplistic exterior branding implying a simple task inside, to the bubble packs reminiscent of an emergency room med locker. However, the product is probably worth a sleight-of-hand test, at least for those with a deep affinity for classic toffee.
To me, the overflowing taffy cups, lack of authentic cannabis flavor, and multi-state distribution make Cheeba Chews seem more like a product made for a newcomer or cannabis tourist than for a cannasseur purist like me.
