LuvBuds is a leading wholesaler of accessories, supplies and custom products for cannabis retailers and dispensaries in the United States. The company has been supplying cannabis dispensaries and smoking shops since 2015.
Cannabiz Media spoke to Brett Harris, CEO and Founder of LuvBuds to learn more about how he and his team use the Cannabiz Media license database for research, distribution, strategic planning and more.
Why does LuvBuds subscribe to the Cannabiz media license database?
LuvBuds uses the Cannabiz Media License Database to identify opportunities and engage with prospective sellers, but Brett shares that he was not an early adopter of the leading cannabis and hemp licensing and business intelligence tool.
Brett explains, “I came across Cannabiz Media at trade shows for several years and didn’t really get it. Then I finally spent some time at the Cannabiz Media booth at a trade show and said, “Wait a minute! Can you tell us when new licenses will be approved?’ That’s what really caught my attention.”
At LuvBuds, Brett and his sales team are very focused on growing the business and the brand. “Our brand name is very valuable,” says Brett. “My goal was to get our brand name known to as many people as possible as quickly as possible. We use the Cannabiz Media License Database so we know when licenses are changing, pending, or being approved, and when people are applying.”
With this information, Brett and the LuvBuds team can identify and prioritize leads to meet their goals. “The industry is growing very quickly and we use the Cannabiz Media License Database to find out where new licenses are being issued,” shares Brett. “We are very interested in pending and newly activated licenses and want to make sure our sales people are aware of the growth in their territory, contact these people and give them the opportunity to take advantage of the valuable services we offer.”
What’s next for LuvBuds?
LuvBuds is looking to the future and already has plans to achieve its goals. “We’re branching out into other revenue streams now, and they’re very important to our success,” says Brett. “The reach of this product category is huge and it’s up to us to be very, very focused on our core business.”
Recently, LuvBuds launched a new custom company: Swag Supply. Brett shares, “We will be making 3D renderings of custom products. No one else has taken the time or cared enough about the cannabis space to get this right. It will be extremely cheap. We will launch our full catalog and launch private labels that will allow us to lower prices.”
Brett and the LuvBuds team are also preparing for future UPC encoding requirements and working on strategic projects with Multi-State Operators (MSOs). “We work with many MSOs to create merchandising plans and timelines and try to bring this industry on par with other retailers in terms of showcasing products and identifying the right product mix,” says Brett. “We really strive to showcase everything to our customer base.”
