ePAC Flexible Packaging is a digitally based flexible packaging company serving small and medium-sized cannabis and hemp companies, as well as companies of all sizes in a variety of other industries, stand-up pouches, flat pouches and roll-up packaging solutions.
Cannabiz Media recently spoke to Ryan Kiley, Director of Market Development at ePAC Flexible Packaging, to learn how he and his team are using the Cannabiz Media License Database to support their sales and business development initiatives.
Why does ePAC Flexible Packaging subscribe to the Cannabiz Media License Database?
ePAC Flexible Packaging subscribes to the Cannabiz Media License Database for sales contacts and business development. Ryan explains, “The great benefit of the Cannabiz Media License Database is that I have access to 75,000 people to market to.”
The sales team uses the license database for research and sales contacts. “Our sales reps use the Cannabiz Media License Database to find license vendors, new licenses, and the types of companies they are calling or will be calling,” said Ryan. “That gives them something to talk about. If you start a conversation with, ‘Hey, congratulations on your new license,’ it’s suddenly a warm call, not a cold call. “
Ryan also uses the Cannabiz Media License Database to build brand awareness and nurture leads. He says, “I make curated lists of people. Sometimes the message is more aimed at a retailer or grower, but the goal is to get people interested in me so that when the time comes to think about packaging, they will know the ePAC name. They know they have someone they can trust to get their packaging. “
What’s next for flexible ePAC packaging?
ePAC Flexible Packaging has opened new facilities in the US and international locations. When asked what is emerging for his company, Ryan said, “I think it’s just more. It’s where business takes us. I think the next big border is Western Europe. “
A future focus of ePAC Flexible Packaging is the expansion of its networked packaging solutions, which enable digital product tracking. “I can trust the consumer by creating a digital identity on the bag itself,” explains Ryan. This digital identity confirms things like ingredients, origins and more. “We took a really powerful platform and made it accessible to small and medium-sized businesses,” says Ryan.
Ryan hopes this technology will go even further in the future, following the next steps after a consumer purchases a product through to disposal, recycling and reuse in a circular economy. He explains: “We know that we are a plastics company, so part of the problem, but we also want to be part of the solution. We are fully committed to recovering, reusing and reusing as much of what we create as possible.
“80% of the things you throw in your roadside recycling bin end up in a landfill, even though you labeled it as recyclable plastic. I think we can make a dent in that. When people scan the package before throwing it in the trash, that product suddenly has a circular life that a company can track and report. “
