Cannabis NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) will go live on April 20th as PotPunks stirs up criminal justice reform

The project will benefit the high-profile charity project Mission Green for the reform of the criminal justice system

Los Angeles, California, April 20, 2021 – PotPunks, a new digital collector’s project from NFT, today announced the launch of 69 first-stage digital characters inspired by the diverse world of cannabis lovers and lawyers. In addition to celebrating the world of weeds, PotPunks goes a step further by partnering with Project Mission Green, a charity founded by reform advocate Weldon Angelos. Angelos and Project Mission Green have deep connections in the entertainment and political worlds, and have been responsible for some of the most iconic drug reform bills and pardons of the past decade.

The team launched the PotPunks project as a tribute to the original CryptoPunks in response to the burgeoning world of NFTs and the promise they hold for the world of cannabis. Every time a PotPunk is sold, a percentage of the proceeds are transferred to The Weldon Project via a smart contract on the Ethereum network to help support cannabis reform.

NFTs (non-fungible tokens) are digitally unique elements with proven ownership in the blockchain. Some uses of NFTs include digital art, collectibles, in-game items, and more.

The explosive popularity of NFTs has resulted in high profile celebrities, athletes, and investors like Tom Brady, Mark Cuban, and Snoop Dogg either starting their own NFTs or investing in space-focused companies.
