Cannabis Day Spotlight – The Medicinal Effects of Canadian Cannabis

Happy cannabis day! Today is a great day to honor Canadian cannabis. Mother Nature deserves to be recognized and celebrated for all of her positive contributions. With that in mind, here is a Cannabis Day Spotlight on the medicinal effects of Canadian cannabis.

On Cannabis Day we would like to like Rick Simpson Oil aka RSO. put in the spotlight

Rick Simpson Oil is a raw black cannabis concentrate that is usually packaged in a syringe. The manufacturing method was made famous by a medical cannabis patient and activist, which is why the oil bears his name. The oil uses light naphtha as a solvent, which is more commonly used as a paint thinner. While this can be a strong solvent, it is difficult to flush and often leaves a significant amount of solvent residue. These days, cannabis oil has come a long way and we have other options with far less residue.

However, RSO has made a significant positive impact in Canada by shedding light on the medicinal properties of the plant. Before oil hit the mainstream, most of society had a limited idea of what cannabis could do. Many people were familiar with the idea of using cannabis to treat chemotherapy symptoms, but few would believe that it could treat tumors. That was until Run From The Cure went public on Youtube.

Run From The Cure is a documentary that outlines the story and method of Rick Simpson. In it, both he and other cannabis patients explain how they cured their cancer with RSO. Run From The Cure was made available in 2012, at the same time that the Smith Decision was finalized.

Important Note – The Smith Decision changed Canadian law and gave medical patients the right to use cannabis in any form. Before this ruling was challenged in the Supreme Court, medical cannabis was only legal if consumed as a dried flower.

Pincher Creek aka Green Crack

Have you ever heard of the Canadian landrace called Pincher Creek? Named for the city of Alberta that first bred the strain, Pincher Creek is a hybrid with significant medicinal properties. Its genetics come from a cross of Sweet Afghani and Skunk # 1, making this a pain reliever that does not induce sedation. The original breeding date was 1989, and since then it has been increasingly difficult to find this variety under its name. Nowadays it is usually called Green Crack.

Some say Pincher Creek was responsible for introducing the concept of microdosing. Medical patients have often been advised to halve their regular dose due to potency. However, if the patient had no experience with medicinal cannabis, half a dose was quartered.

Mountain jam

Mountain Jam is a delicious hybrid that was bred on Vancouver Island. Bred by DJ Blueberry Short and Soulshine, Mountain Jam has potent medicinal properties and is a great pain reliever for the day. For the past 25 years this strain has been exclusive to the Victoria Cannabis Buyers Club; all the Mountain Jam at VCBC is from the original breeder. It is possible to buy the seeds to grow yourself, but when it comes to quality, 25 years of experience is hard to beat. The quality is top notch and many VCBC members rely on its powerful effect. In fact, several members depend on it, saying nothing else compares.

Mountain jam

Currently, the Victoria Cannabis Buyers Club does not fit into the cannabis law. Founded in 1996, they are a not-for-profit compassion club with one goal in mind: to provide safe and affordable access to medical cannabis. Regardless, they had to struggle to stay open; To date, the VCBC has been searched nine times. Based on the Constitution, the VCBC is pushing for an exception to the cannabis law, and access to Mountain Jam is one of their arguments. If the VCBC closed down, members who rely on Mountain Jam would likely not be able to get it. This would have a huge impact on their quality of life as many cannot find effective replacements. The direct effect is so great that it contributes to securing the existence of the club.

Cannabis day

It’s not that we need a reason to celebrate. But given the positive effects it’s created, Canadian cannabis deserves a party. On behalf of all of us here on the Cannabis Life Network, I wish you a very happy cannabis day. And we hope that you all gained some knowledge by reading our Cannabis Day Spotlight article.
