Canna sugar – your new favorite ingredient for Christmas baking

Most edible recipes use CBD oil or butter, but are there alternatives? Cannas sugar is another ingredient that you can try to cook with.

So what exactly is canna sugar? As you can probably tell by the name, it’s cannabis-infused sugar. To make this special sugar, you first use alcohol to extract CBD from the plant. You then mix the extract with sugar to make cannabis-infused sugar. Canna sugar takes a while to make and usually takes around two days to make. But luckily, much of the process is pretty handy. With an occasional check-up, you will have your canna sugar done without much effort.

A recipe to imitate

Now let’s look at a recipe we can use to make canna sugar. This recipe was adapted from Ardent Cannabis, so say hello to them. Here are the basic ingredients you will need:

  • a cup of sugar
  • Alcohol made from grain
  • 1-3 grams of decarboxylated cannabis
  • a mason jar
  • a tablet

With these ingredients and utensils you can start making your sugar:

Put your cannabis in your mason jar first, then the alcohol. Make sure the jar is safe, then store it in a safe, cold place. Now you have to play the waiting game – about 24 hours or so. Check and shake your infusion every few hours.

After your infusion is ready, place your sugar on your tray and mix in the infusion. Here, too, we play the waiting game – the alcohol evaporates after 12 to 16 hours. Make sure to shake your tray every few hours. Once the wait is over, your canna sugar should be ready!

What are the benefits of canna sugar?

So why should you choose canna sugar over other ingredients? For one thing, canna sugar is much more versatile than oil or butter. Canna sugar tastes like regular sugar, but with a hint of nut. As a result, you can use it to supplement your regular sugar intake. Would you like your coffee or tea a little sweeter? Add some canna sugar. Are you planning to make a ton of cookies? Do it with canna sugar.

Cannabis can also be an alternative option for medicinal use. Since you don’t have to heat the sugar, the CBD component doesn’t convert to THC. As a result, you can eat the canna sugar without triggering some of the psychoactive effects that come with THC in your body. You can only enjoy cannabis for its medicinal properties and nothing else.
