After a very productive morning comes the shared afternoon experience of wanting to take a nap. This situation is so common that most people prioritize their important tasks for the morning so they can hobble after lunch break and get home just in time for dinner and a crash.

It’s not a coincidence. According to the Sleep Foundation, our bodies and circadian rhythms fluctuate throughout the day, with most people being most tired after lunch. Fortunately, there are a variety of activities out there to help you stay alert and ready for the rest of the day.

Caffeine is a pretty simple answer to solving your midday crisis problems. While it does offer a solution, it’s a patch that won’t solve the problem in the long run. If your fatigue continues, it may be best to find another solution that will require more effort.

So it makes sense that using a standing desk solves the midday weakness problem and gives you the concentration you need to get your job done, no matter how difficult it is. If you don’t have a standing desk, you can use a counter, bookcase, dresser, or anything that allows you to stand and work. Just watch your posture.
