A California cannabis company offers the ultimate stoner dream job: getting paid to smoke weed.
Los Angeles-based weed delivery service Emjay is now accepting applications for a paid intern to try and review a really large number of weed products. Chris Vaughn, CEO of Emjay, told USA TODAY that he envisions the position as the cannabis equivalent of a wine taster – someone with an experienced palate who can describe the subjective differences between similar products.
The legal cannabis market in California is currently thriving, with licensed cannabis producers launching hundreds of new products each year. Emjay now sells over 600 different cannabis products, including different strains of bud, edibles, and vapes, but without reviews, it’s hard to choose one product over another.
Rather than relying solely on customer ratings and feedback, Emjay will hire a seasoned stoner who will bring their own opinions on the taste, flavor, and effects of every single product the company sells. Any California resident 21 or older can apply, but the company is specifically looking for someone with a wide range of cannabis knowledge and experience.
The job application states that the applicant is responsible for “writing descriptive, unique, and creative text and reviews on a wide range of cannabis products … to describe Emjay’s ever-evolving range of products.”
Vaughn told USA TODAY that his company is looking for “someone who knows very well how certain things affect their body … the exact effects and effects of a particular product.”
“It will be fascinating to get feedback from whoever we find most suitable,” said Vaughn, adding that cannabis “can have very different effects on sleep, mood and behavior, and we’re really excited to see how.” a person is able to share how these different things affected them. “
Unfortunately, getting paid to get high isn’t a full-time career option. The internship costs $ 15 an hour, for a maximum of 16 hours a week, and the position lasts only three months. Each interested applicant must submit a one-page sample text or video explaining why they are perfect for the position. Video submissions are of course limited to a maximum time of 4 minutes and 20 seconds.
