Best time to submit an application? Experts weigh in
Although unemployment has steadily improved in the US, a large percentage of people remain looking for work. One of the weakest aspects of job hunting is how little you know about the hiring process and how almost everything seems out of your control.
However, according to some hiring experts, submitting an application can have important ramifications.
The Huffington Post spoke to several recruiting and HR professionals who shared some facts that you still have under control when applying for job postings. Some said the best time to submit and apply was either early morning or late at night.
“The early bird gets the worm,” said job search strategist Ashlee Watkins. “I checked applications at any time of the day, but usually the first time I checked my applications was in the morning.”
Submitting your application early in the morning or late at night can help you stand out from the crowd. Getting seen first isn’t much by the way, but it’s a significant boost when so many people are applying for the same job. Coupled with the right work experience, this can be a determinant of an interview.

Other factors that will help include the time the job ad was open. In general, the earlier you apply for the job, the better your chances are. If the post has been on the site for over a month, the company likely has a pool of skilled people by the time the job is done.
