But what about the rest of the day – what are the best Sunday cocktails?

On a Sunday, you want something simple that’s worth a sip and doesn’t hit too hard. And if you have friends and family nearby, you’ll want something with ingredients on hand. The first is a little more complicated, but turmeric will help you recover a bit after a binge. Its most active ingredient, curcumin, has many scientifically proven health benefits. For Sundays, it is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.

- 1 1/2 ounces tequila
- 1 1/2 ounces grapefruit juice
- 1 ounce cinnamon syrup
- 1/4 ounce turmeric tea*
- Club soda water as a topping
- Garnish: grapefruit twist

Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake until well chilled

Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice.

Top up with soda water.

*Turmeric tea: Add 1 teaspoon ground turmeric powder and 2 cups water to a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, then strain.

The greyhound
- 1 1/2 ounces vodka or gin
- Grapefruit juicefreshly pressed, to the top
- Garnish: Lime wheel

Fill a rocks glass with ice, then add the vodka or gin and grapefruit juice and stir gently.

- 1 1/4 ounces Bourbon (or rye)
- 1 ounce Campari
- 1 ounce sweet vermouth
- Garnish: Orange twist
