Are you celebrating Thanksgiving? – Cannabis Life Network
Happy Thanks! And yes, that’s not a typo, it’s a real vacation. If you’ve never heard of it but think it’s Thanksgiving related, then you are on the right track. We may have celebrated Thanksgiving here in Canada, but American Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and that means you get another chance to celebrate Thanksgiving. Here’s what you need to know about this special holiday for cannabis enthusiasts.
What is Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving is a relatively new trend. Although we do not know who invented this tradition or where it came from, searches for “thanksgiving” popped up in 2006 and its popularity continues to grow every year.

The simplest meaning of Thanksgiving is to enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner while you are getting high. For others, it is a custom that follows Thanksgiving. They simply consume cannabis to whet their appetites to complete their leftover Thanksgiving dinner. I mean, who hasn’t “walked” before dinner to have a J before the big party?
Many people consider the Sunday after Thanksgiving to be the official day that Thanksgiving is celebrated. Some people even make a brand new cannabis-infused meal to celebrate the occasion.
Some recommendations for your party
With cannabutter, you can make most Thanksgiving dishes with cannabis. Please note, however, that the standard serving size of THC is 10 milligrams. So if you plan to add cannabis to every dish on your Thanksgiving menu, be sure to cut down on the dosage for each of your dishes.
If you’re looking to celebrate Thanksgiving and don’t know where to start, these two simple recipes can help you get started.
Infused sauce

- 4 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup turkey stir fry fat
- 3 cups of chicken broth
- Thyme and rosemary
- salt and pepper
A Thanksgiving dinner is not complete without sauce. For the occasion, we will be making cannabis-infused sauce. And you can complete this recipe with a few simple steps.
For starters, you can tie the thyme and rosemary in a bundle and set aside. Melt the cannabutter over low heat and add flour until browned. Slowly add the turkey roast, then the herb bundle and bring the mixture to a boil until thickened.
Then, reduce the heat to a simmer and slowly add the chicken broth, half a cup at a time, until you get the texture you want. If the sauce gets too thick, you can add more broth.
Infused garlic mashed potatoes
- 4 pounds of potatoes
- 4 tablespoons of cannabutter
- 2 cups of milk
- 4 cloves of crushed garlic
- Freshly chopped chives (optional)
- salt and pepper
Another great dish to celebrate your thanksgiving is mashed potatoes. To start with, peel the potatoes and cut them into large cubes, then add them to boiling water. Set your timer for 15 minutes. When you’re done, you should be able to prick the potato easily with a fork.
Next, place the potatoes in a large mixing bowl and add the cannabutter. Mash the potatoes with a pounder or puree them with a blender. Then add the garlic and gradually milk until you reach your desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper and finally sprinkle with chopped chives.
