An ideological rupture due to continued government abuse
In the North Texas wilderness, a K-9 with a keen sense of trouble tracked down two suspicious travelers towing a trailer overflowing with a staggering $1.7 million worth of illegal substances. The two people, who claimed to be on their way to Tennessee for a funeral or furniture move, were pulled over by a Wise County deputy after their pickup truck was spotted erratically swerving.
The driver, who was described as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs, tried to convince the officer he was only rushing to mourn the loss of a loved one. Meanwhile, in the passenger seat, the grandmother told a story about the trailer being full of furniture, hoping to distract the officer from the pungent odors emanating from their hideout.
But K-9 Benni wasn’t fooled. With a quick movement of his sensitive snout, the dog police officer discovered the intoxicating smell and immediately alerted the emergency services on site. When the trailer was opened, the officials were presented with a sobering sight. Instead of furniture, they found 31 sealed moving boxes filled to the brim with 840 pounds of premium marijuana, 242 pounds of psilocybin mushroom-infused candy bars, and 1,100 THC vape cartridges. The estimated value of the cache was a cool $1.7 million.
The arrest of the driver and his grandmother was a rapid state crackdown in the guise of protecting society from the “evils” of controlled substances. However, what the state really protects is its monopoly on the definition of consciousness and its right to dictate what we can and cannot absorb.
In reality, the $1.7 million drug seizure is not a state victory, but a reminder of the failure of the War on Drugs. Rather than addressing the root cause of drug use, the state’s oppressive attitude toward individual liberty and the pursuit of happiness only serves to turn them into the enemy of the people.
The fact that market demand for these substances remains high despite the bankruptcy underscores the absurdity of the government’s approach. Not only do governments miss out on potential tax revenue by failing to meet market demand, but they also boost the value of these substances on the black market.
It’s no secret that the War on Drugs is a complete failure. The state is influenced by corporate interests, and politicians care more about lining their pockets than representing the people. The sad truth is that there is considerable profit to be made from the drug trade and politicians are very happy to cash in on it.
But the real question is – what can we do about it?
A call to upgrade consciousness
What can we do about this injustice? The answer lies in a shift in consciousness. Although it may sound vague and abstract, a reality shift is just a shift in the dominant paradigm. It is a challenge for an individual to bring about significant change when it comes to the state, as history has shown us with the murders of leaders like Martin Luther King and Jesus. However, the collective power of a community can have a significant impact.
I believe that the key to real change is an expansion of consciousness. Influencing the state apparatus is a challenge for the average citizen, but not impossible. The state recognizes that certain individuals have the power to change mass consciousness because of their charisma and message, but for most of us our influence is limited.
The answer to beating the seemingly unbeatable state is to make it irrelevant. This is where the upgrade of consciousness comes into play. While there is growing support for the legalization of cannabis, it is important to acknowledge the corruption that exists in governments around the world and hold these politicians accountable. If we don’t, we will get stuck in this never-ending cycle of injustice. The time has come for a reckless awakening and a shift in consciousness.
But how does one do it?
I’m so glad you asked…here are my top tips on how to shift your consciousness and contribute to a better future.
Reginald’s top tips for mind shifting
Here are 5 things I believe that if we all do them on an individual level, we will be able to transcend our current system.
We can quiet our brain, gain insight into our own ideas and beliefs, and confront limiting or dogmatic beliefs that are holding us back through consistent practice of meditation and self-reflection. This allows us to feel more connected to our inner self and our own inner truth.
Positive Energy Environment: The people, places, and experiences we surround ourselves with have a significant impact on our consciousness. We can build a more optimistic and proactive state of being by avoiding negative influences and searching for positive, uplifting energies.
Participation in official activities: Participating in acts of service, such as volunteering, giving to charity, or just showing a little compassion for others, has been shown to increase feelings of contentment, meaning, and connection. When we serve others, we not only contribute to positively shifting the collective consciousness, but we are also undergoing a consciousness shift ourselves.
Stay up to date and informed: Education and informed participation are powerful tools for influencing awareness. We can test our own assumptions and viewpoints and develop the ability to see the world from different angles by staying informed about current events and issues. This allows us to develop a more complex view of the environment and our fitting into it, which can help us make informed decisions and engage in proactive activities.
Develop gratitude and positive thoughts: Our experience of the world is greatly influenced by the thoughts and words we choose to describe it. We can shift our awareness to a more optimistic and proactive state and as a result, encourage those around us to do the same by appreciating the wonderful things in our lives and by focusing on positive ideas and experiences. This can contribute to a good transformation that spreads and eventually creates a shift in general consciousness.
The collective consciousness consists of all individual consciousnesses and if an individual changes anything within themselves, it can have an impact on the collective consciousness as a whole and ultimately affect society. We gain a sense of agency and the ability to contribute well to group consciousness by embracing our personal power. It sets off a chain reaction of positivity and progression in the collective consciousness as more people embrace this mindset and consciously choose to change their own views and beliefs. A better world for all comes from society being more peaceful, compassionate, and aligned with the greater good.
Corruption is a challenge to survive in a culture where people value peace, empathy and the common good because these values act as a counterbalance to destructive forces. People are less likely to act detrimentally to the well-being of the community when they are connected to each other and to a greater purpose. Empathy encourages people to think about how their activities affect other people, which can help prevent harmful behavior and motivate people to act in the best interests of the group. A focus on the greater good also helps develop a shared vision and purpose that can serve as a compass, guiding people and society. When everyone upholds these principles, unscrupulous people will find it harder to achieve their own goals at the expense of the community because they will encounter group resistance. We are building a society that is more resilient and less prone to corruption by supporting these ideals.
Corruption thrives on the compliance principle. When people engage in unethical or illegal acts, an environment is created in which corruption can thrive. Because corruption requires the active or passive participation of individuals in order to be successful. When people comply, it supports corrupt individuals or institutions and amplifies their actions.
For example, if a person is offered a bribe, they have the choice of either accepting or refusing it. If they accept the bribe, they become a willing participant in the corrupt act and contribute to its success. On the other hand, if they refuse the bribe, they refuse to support the corrupt person and break the chain of corruption.
Similarly, people who comply with laws, rules, and regulations that allow corruption provide a supportive environment for corrupt individuals or institutions to thrive. They may do so out of ignorance, fear, or self-interest, but the result is the same: they help perpetuate corruption by increasing their power and influence.
As such, the advice of one of the greatest civil rights activists in modern US history is still relevant today;
“One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws.”
– Martin Luther King Jr.
