AJ's Sour Diesel – Flowerhouse, NY, Fall/Winter 2023

85 out of 100 points

Price: N/A

The infamous East Coast popularizer of Sour Diesel – “Asshole Joe” or AJ – is debuting his namesake strain on the recreational market this fall and winter, and Sour D is a solid outdoorsy look. It will be released this winter in a series of drops from Flowerhouse AJ's Sour Diesel grew in Flowerhouse's greenhouses in New York, where the weather was less than ideal, AJ told Leafly. Still, the end result is gassy or peppery or more sour than sour.

Plus, it's a really generous size and has greater density and color outdoors than the typical tiny, dense, bright green Sour-D flowers indoors. It smoked like it smelled – gassy of beta-caryophyllene and limonene. The reference points here are Chemdog and before that Skunk. AJ's Sour Diesel effect is classic New York weed – energizing yet heavy, so make a plan before you hit the mean streets of Chelsea and Manhattan with AJ's cut.
