Texas House approves the comprehensive ban, the governor's decision is waiting

Legislators in Texas have passed the Senate Bill 3, which forbid the retail turnover and possession of almost all hemp-derived THC products and the fate of thousands of companies and consumers.

Legislative Showdown in Austin

On May 28th, the Texas House SB 3 said goodbye with a vote of 95–44. The draft law prohibits the sale and possession of the willing of THC products -including Delta -8, Delta -9, rubber, vapes and drinks -and preserves the statutory CBD and CBG products. If Governor Abbott did not take any measures by June 22, legislation will automatically become law.

Supporters quote youth protection and gap

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, the primary lawyer of the draft law, argues that the rapid expansion of the THC retailers takes advantage of gaps in federal and state hemp laws. He warns the business – often near schools – mark effective THC articles without adequate control.

Economic and small company failure

The Texas hemp industry achieves annual turnover of around 4 to 8 billion US dollars and supports tens of thousands of jobs. Retailers like Natural Buds in Fort Worth could be wiped out overnight – owners Alex Noriega estimates that 90% of his shares would be banned. He also relies on the fact that THC manages his seizures.

Build public and political counter -reactions

The surveys show that a broad party -crossing opposition – 70% of Texans support the continued regulated THC sales, and 44% of Republicans reject the complete ban. Over 100,000 signatures were delivered to push governor Abbott at the foreground of the legislation.

Prominent and advocacy is increasing

The retired NFL star Ricky Williams joined a federal action against the ban, citing federal laws and argues that the ban limits access to important therapeutic options. He expressly asked Abbott to reject SB 3.

Governor Abbott weighs the use

Abbott has not yet announced his decision. According to reports on both sides – including public health, economy and security – he is reported to be concerned about June 22nd. Veto is probably a heated debate and the legislator's review.
