Marijuana can connect grandparents with family
Like wine with dinner or a beer in the backyard, marijuana is becoming more and more commonplace.
With nearly 60% of adults drinking alcohol, it's a staple at family gatherings. Relatives, including grandparents, cousins, adult grandchildren and more, would sit around a table and toast with beer, wine or liquor… and now cannabis might be part of the mix. With increasing legalization, cannabis is being embraced by more and more people and is being used at all kinds of family gatherings. And it seems that marijuana can connect grandparents with family.

In a third-party survey sponsored by Sanctuary Wellness, some interesting data has offered hope regarding the bond between generations. There are all sorts of concerns that Baby Boomers and Gen Z won't get along, but marijuana-related music is showing a positive trend. Nearly one in three has tried cannabis, far less than alcohol, but still a significant number. In the survey, Millennials are the most likely to use, followed closely by Gen X, then Gen Z, and finally Baby Boomers. And while a whopping 86% of Gen Z and Millennials support legalizing marijuana, a whopping 71% of Baby Boomers do so as well.
Generation Z is slowly turning away from alcohol, feeling like they have a lot more stress than their grandparents. Due to the acceptance of the medical community, baby boomers are starting to look to cannabis as an aid in treating chronic pain and sleep disorders. The plant can be very effective without having as many severe side effects.
One interesting factor in the survey is the consumption of gummy bears. Microdosing is a big trend and Generation Z sees it as a way to deal with anxiety. 76% of Baby Boomers and 72% of Generation Z use gummy bears… far more than Millennials and Generation X.

For many Europeans, alcohol is part of their culture and is seen as a social activity. In Italy, for example, children are slowly introduced to drinking with a little wine at dinner. From a young age, they are taught that alcohol is something to drink in moderation and casually. In Italy and France, alcohol abuse is less common due to the generation's upbringing. Perhaps marijuana, which has clear medicinal benefits, could be another thing that generations share to make for a better life.
