Personal jet packs
Have you ever dreamed of flying alone in the sky like a bird? If so, this dream can become a reality. Jetpack Aviation is a California based company and can help make this a reality for you. The company has developed not one, but two different models that are open to the public. For five grand USD you can take their three day pilot course and learn to fly one. According to their website, each model achieves top speeds of 125 mph and maximum altitudes of 18,000 feet.
Solar powered salt water purifier
MIT researchers have developed a solar-powered saltwater purifier that weighs only about twenty pounds. Unlike other portable units, this device does not use filters or pumps. Instead, it uses an electrical charge to remove particles from the water. Because of their unique cleaning method, the units are inexpensive to manufacture and require very little maintenance. In addition, it automatically produces drinking water that exceeds World Health Organization quality standards.
