Marijuana Flower and Pre-Rolls

Welcome to the world of legal cannabis, where good old traditional weed is known as a flower and professionally rolled joints are called pre-rolls.

Flower is sold in various quantities, from one gram (enough for a joint or two smaller ones) to a full ounce.

Want to start with some of the hottest strains in New Jersey? Check out this list of New Jersey’s best selling and most popular strains:

  • blueberry – A classic strain, consumers love the calming Blueberry for its calming and euphoric effects.
  • runt – Known for her insanely fruity and sugary terpene profile, Runtz is a lively hybrid known for making consumers energetic and talkative. Leafly named Runtz their 2020 Strain of the Year.
  • mob boss – Come on, New Jersey, don’t give us a reason to make another Sopranos joke! But hey, we get why you love Mob Boss: citrusy and energizing, consumers tell us it induces rapid muscle relaxation, mood elevation and appetite stimulation.
  • engine breath – Named for its overly gassy taste and smell, Motorbreath is an extremely potent and uplifting strain that is best left to experienced users.
  • Ice – Gelato is a balanced hybrid strain and often leaves consumers feeling painless, relaxed, but mentally stimulated and productive. Less strong than many other classic strains, Gelato is a great choice for beginners.

Flower can also be bought in pre-rolled joints, which are typically sold in half-gram or one-gram sizes.

Make sure to ask budtenders about the strains and potency range that will work best for you.

Many customers prefer to consume their cannabis in an edible form. Gummy bears and candies are big draws in New Jersey. These products, made with cannabis extracts or cannabis-infused oils and butters, are extremely discreet and their effects can last much longer than inhaled cannabis.

We recommend new consumers start with a low dose of between 2 and 5 milligrams of THC before venturing up.

Check the pack and ask your budtender about the dosage before you leave the counter. (Seriously, ask. Everyone wants you to have a good experience.)

Vape cartridges and batteries

Are you looking for a gentler and cheaper way to inhale cannabis? Vaporizer cartridges (aka vape carts) might be right for you.

A vaporizer cart is a glass cartridge pre-filled with one gram or half a gram of cannabis oil. Most vape carts work in conjunction with a rechargeable vape pen battery, sold separately, which heats the oil, activating the various chemical components within.

Vape carts can also be sold as a single unit with a disposable battery.

To make vape cartridges, concentrated oils are extracted from cannabis plants using a handful of methods, including solvent-based CO2 extraction, distillate, or solvent-free pressed hash rosin.

Vape carts contain either a single variety of oils or a blend of multiple varieties. As such, they are typically labeled as either sativa-dominant, indica-dominant, or a hybrid of the two.

Customers can also purchase cannabis in concentrated form; in New Jersey they are usually supplied in a sublingual syringe.

Cannabis concentrates tend to be extremely strong and are not recommended for beginners or consumers with a low THC tolerance.

Individuals seeking pain relief from cannabis but not interested in psychoactive effects can enjoy the effects of infused ointments and lotions. These are often fortified with THC and CBD. They treat certain body regions such as knees or other joints without triggering an intoxicating effect.
