We need a third political party, meet the New Cannabis Party!

It has become painfully obvious that there are far too many nuances in this world to be categorized into two distinct political ideologies; Republicans versus Democrats. We have reached a point of tribalism within our global society where, if we continue down this path, we will inevitably draw imaginary boundaries and wage very real murderous wars with one another.

Today it seems as if the gap between left and right is widening and that there seems to be no middle ground. When everyone in the world yells in unison that “We are right”, it means one word – WAR!

With the tribalism of politics reaching this epic level of dissonance, the only way to keep the world at peace is to create a third — more “nuanced” approach to governance. While there seems to be very little agreement between left and right on many political issues, there is one thing that has consistently scored highly regardless of party color – CANNABIS!

That’s right, cannabis has been the unifying factor that stretches down the aisle, creating a certain sense of collaboration between ideologies that can’t agree on anything. So it would make sense to use this as a springboard and aim for three or even four new parties.

But don’t the Libertarians exist?

On paper, I’m probably more libertarian by your definition, but many libertarians come across as smug, “I told you so” types of people. Mainly because when shit goes wrong, they’re quick to say, “Told you so!” For that reason, they would technically be the ideal candidate for a third-party in the US.

Not left, not right, it seems that the Libertarian Party might be the more nuanced approach – however, there are many different interpretations within the Libertarian Party of how big the government should be – and some purists would rather burn the whole thing than compromise their beliefs.

Because of this, however, the party has struggled to gain momentum – if I had gone to vote, I probably would have voted consistently Libertarian.

But I’m an anarchist at heart – so I don’t care how things turn out because I aspire to a world without rulers.

A new thanksgiving party

What the world desperately needs is the party that represents the majority of people around the world. Most people in the world don’t care if you’re straight or gay, they don’t care if you’re black or white, they don’t care if you like rock music or classical.

Most people in this world want some guarantees from their government;

  1. To protect individual freedom

  2. protect property

  3. Being able to make money without being bullied by big companies or organizations

  4. To be able to learn, to grow, to find meaning in life and to let the government protect this form of expressionism.

Essentially, most people just want to be left alone to express their lives, work in a free society, and be able to grow up and provide for their families. This is also why people are overwhelmingly in favor of legalization: “If you’re not hurting anyone – then it should be fine!”

Why not build this up as a fundamental core idea within a brand new party…

The New Cannabis Party’s Viewpoints;

So let’s talk about the main things that people usually look for in a party

What about jobs, economy, etc…

First, if we have to look at who has the best track record of creating jobs, it’s always the independent contractors. While the government “creates jobs” – these jobs are typically administrative and cost taxpayers money. In other words, it uses its debt to pay workers, which in turn reduces their purchasing power as it directly impacts things like inflation.

Currently, the US dollar is depreciating as the deficit is added by trillions of dollars. This creates the illusion of stability, but eventually there will be a reckoning that will expose many people to economic hardship.

Democrats like to use taxes to “pay” their loans — but they don’t pay those taxes — we do. They also set many restrictions on trading. Conversely, Republicans only want to help the rich.

Here we need a balanced approach, where there is just enough government to keep things fair but not enough to stifle innovation. It’s not the government’s job to create jobs – leave that to entrepreneurs.

What about individual freedom?

It makes sense that the New Cannabis Party, or whatever it is called in the future, will take a strong stance on individual freedom. It would advocate, meaning that “everyone’s individual freedom” would be respected.

In other words, when you are doing nothing to harm another, you should constitutionally have the freedom to express yourself as you see fit. If you’re gay, straight, trans or anything in between – that’s okay though – your freedom ends where another begins. In other words, if someone says something that offends your way of being, they are free to express that opinion. You are free to ignore it.

Easy, isn’t it?

Things like freedom of speech, freedom of expression, etc. would be burned into the core foundation of the new party.

what about war

The New Cannabis Party would advocate war only as a defensive measure. The construction of military bases worldwide would be frowned upon as it would be seen as an act of aggression. Now, I know some of you will probably be echoing that “but our enemies abroad” sentiment, but if you’re really being honest about the actions of the US military over the past several decades, none of it has made the world “safer.” “.

Nobody elected the US to be the world’s policeman, so the best thing would be to cut the military budget, enshrine a good defense strategy, and allow global conflicts to play out. Currently, war in the US is a business and until profits drop significantly there will be endless conflict as long as there is money to be made.

All sham wars such as the War on Drugs or the War on “insert cause here” would also not be allowed. We don’t fight our way to a healthier society, we take sensible actions that offer a higher ROI.

What about social issues?

The best way to help minorities and people affected by social inequality is to strengthen individual rights. The individual is not a race, class, gender, or anything of the sort. The individual is them all. That is, as long as we focus on maximizing individual freedom, we are inherently protective of these minorities.

We don’t have to create “special rules”, we simply have to create equal opportunities. The rest depends on the drive of the individual. Give people options and you’ll be amazed at what they can achieve.

What about health and education?

While the current healthcare system is broken, our approach to health and education needs a fundamental overhaul. For starters, the pharma insurance system needs to end. Perhaps all pharmaceutical companies and manufacturers should be restricted to becoming “non-profit organizations”. In addition, pricing needs to be better regulated.

In addition, politicians should not be able to make money from any of the companies they regulate.

How do we limit political power?

They could do something radical like “low wages, limited tenure, remove all money from politics.” Let’s face it, the biggest problem that messes us up is that politicians are in the pockets of big business. Make it illegal or even an act of treason, punishing not only the politician but also the corporation involved in “buying political favors.”

Only a party not part of the current system could do this. Let it be the new cannabis party!

bottom line

I know some of the ideas discussed here are probably a bit “out of the box”, but I think it’s good practice to make room for the idea of a 3rd or even 4th or 5th party in the US. The bipartisan split has run its course. We no longer live in a society where binary decision-making works – we need more nuance, and the only way to do that is to split the big parties into more differentiated factions that can offer truly equal representation in government.

Let me know if there are any ideas you would like to see in government. What would you add to the core beliefs of the New Cannabis Party?

Feel free to give your opinion in the comment section below. It is only by imagining another alternative that we can achieve a world that is different from the one we are being sold.
