Celebrities turning their cannabis products green

Back before cannabis was legal, celebrities enjoying cannabis were usually spotted in tabloids or trashy magazines. Now that cannabis is a billion dollar industry, most celebrities are more open about their love for it. Why wouldn’t the avid celebrity smoker want to enjoy this green and do some of it at the same time? Most celebrities put their name on a product and it effortlessly gains praise and popularity. The list of celebrities who want a piece of the marijuana pie is pretty long. Here are the top five celebrities with their own cannabis lines:

Willy Nelson

Aside from making some of the best country music albums, he has been active in legalizing cannabis. He founded his Willie’s Reserve brand in 2015 and today the company is hailed as one of the first celebrity-backed cannabis manufacturing companies. Hemp chocolates made by his wife Annie have been added to the lineup and are among the most sought-after cannabis products by celebrities, with unique items like roasted cacao nibs, chocolate almonds and Maui espresso beans.

Bob Marley

Funded by Privateer Holdings, Marley Natural was announced in 2014 and launched in Los Angeles in 2016. The product line is currently available in California and Washington. Bob believed that a healthy, sustainable relationship with nature not only benefits individuals, but is essential to global well-being and happiness. The company prides itself that its products are grown, packaged and distributed in a mindful approach to an environmental footprint and how the environment is protected for future generations.

Tommy Chong

The stoner comic and actor was also one of the first celebs to launch his own brand of cannabis, which started in a store in Colorado in 2015 and expanded to Washington in 2016. Since the brand’s inception, Tommy has also rebranded its original range of pipes and bongs as Chong’s Choice, offering customers a good dose of custom flower jars, pre-rolls, cartridges and edibles. Another brand is Cheech’s Private Stash, which offers an interesting range of vapes, pre-rolls, and flowers.

snoop dog

How could we leave out this well-known fan of ‘Rollin’ down the street smokin’ endo’? Snoop Dogg was one of the first to get into the cannabis business, launching his cannabis brand in 2015 called Leafs by Snoop, a company dedicated to cannabis flower and edibles. Ontario-based brand Snoop is primarily focused on selling a very “California Cool” product that focuses primarily on cannabis flower, oils, and edibles.

Seth Rogan

Along with his writing and producing partner Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogan launched his product line in Canada in 2019 with Canopy Growth. It includes flowers, pre-rolls, softgels and one drink, a grapefruit drink. The very first strain that came out of it was Houseplant Sativa with the strains Houseplant Indica and Houseplant Hybrid.

Honorable Mention

Martha Stewart might not have been in the top five, but she had to be on that list. It turns out that the demographics of cannabis users can sometimes surprise you. Friends of Snoop, Martha has decided to create a range of CBD wellness products, even some specifically for your pets. Developed by one of the world’s leading cannabis companies, Canopy Growth, the Stewart line offers gourmet CBD gummies, CBD oil, and CBD softgels. The beauty is that the flavors of her gummy bear recipes are inspired by what grows in her own garden. Leave it to Martha Stewart to impress us like this! Their products hit shelves in September 2020.
