Similar varieties to Dosidos: Canada edition

With so many strains available, we must all have tried a lot of cannabis this year. The dates are in and Dosidos will rule as Leaf Variety of the Year in 2021.

Although the strain is popular in the legacy market, it can still be difficult to hunt down with the exception of a few legal offerings. Fortunately, there are tons of different strains made with similar genetics that offer a comparable experience.

If you can’t buy Dosidos or just want to try a similar strain, we’ve put together a list of strains that are directly related to their genetic ancestry.

GMO cookies

As a cross between Girl Scout Cookies and Chemdawg, GMO Cookies combines two key varieties of the Dosidos line. Caryophyllene, humulene, linalool and myrcene terpenes capture a sharp, earthy taste with a strong diesel aroma. If you like a heavy, sleepy strain with a euphoric effect, GMO cookies have the right punch to melt your body into your couch.

Peanut Butter Breath

GSC or Girl Scout Cookies is a gentle, dessert-like variety with high THC potency that is ideal for an aperitif after a meal. The mellow effects come from crossing OG Kush and Durban Poison, with the roots of both strains going back to the original Dosidos.

Cement shoes

When you find the right strain to chill out with, it can feel like walking around with lead bricks for your feet or cement shoes if you will. The heavily sleepy strain crosses Wet Dream with OG Kush Breath (OGKB), which is half of the original Dosidos genetics. Cement Shoes is terp-tastic with caryophyllene, humulene, lime and myrcene on top.

Jelly breath

Jelly breath (leaf)

Although genetically similar to Peanut Butter Breath, Jelly Breath crosses a different lineage with Dosidos and Mendo Breath F1 instead of F2. Jelly Breath buds have a deep purple hue with more berry presence in the taste. You can even mix the two for the classic PB&J flavor!

Secret formula

Secret formula (leaf)

Tasteful traits abound in this terpene-dense Secret Formula variety. While her genetics are not that secret, this cross of Dosidos and White Fire combines OG Kush traits with the mind-boggling power of the strain of the year. In terms of taste, you can expect a sour citrus hit in the face with a gaseous aroma.

Peanut butter souffle

Peanut Butter Souffle (leaf)

Like a creamy, nutty cake, peanut butter souffle has a velvety smooth taste that will make you lick your lips in anticipation of the next puff. This strain brings Dosidos face to face with Lava Cake – another heavy strain that will keep you in bed all day. Combine these sweet, battered buds with some delicious treats and enjoy some serious “me” time.

Mendo breath

Mendo breath (leaf leaf)

After a long day, watch your worries rise in a cloud of smoke with Mendo Breath. This high point from OG Kush Breath and Mendo Montage carries the same powerful THC power as Dosidos. With a sweet vanilla and creamy caramel taste and aroma, Mendo Breath is perfect for people who like their cannabis without fruity frills.
