12 discarded new hashes for the harvest season
It’s time to fill the freezers in this croptober with fresh weed in hopes of another year of exciting hash.
As farms keep packing more material into freezers this harvest season, we look for a range of proper killers that equates to using the best possible material to get the best results. So there are still many flavors out there, but here are some that we’re sure you will enjoy.
Hot-hot new-new on sale
Feeling Frosty x STS9 – Cold Hardened Live Rosin
While Sonoma County, California’s Feeling Frosty brand has been known for some of the most exciting rosin game collaborations in recent years – with names like Str8organics and Powerzzzup – they are moving outside the cannabis realm to team up with Perennial Dance Jammer Sound Tribe Sector 9.
The move will no doubt catapult STS9 up the jam band hash rankings and we’re happy for them, but they might have some little competition that we’re about to get to.
Garcia Handpicked x Surprize Surprize – rosin and BHO frosting
What do you get when you mix the iconic, intertwined story of the Grateful Dead with cannabis and a multiple world hash champion? The upcoming Garcia Hand Picked x Surprize Surprize Collab is out later this month. While a lot of cool Dead products have hit the market in the past few years, this is the first exotic hash offering. This is the moment I and my Igloo x Grateful Dead Collab backpack have been waiting for months.

The original Z-Zeuz Pod

The Zeuz is loose and has become one of the most sought after vape pods in recent months that you can get your hands on from coast to coast to be full. But sadly, these crazy kids east of the Sierra Nevada are only found in California. In essence, the Zeuz-Pod combines the award-winning terpenes from The Original Z with the best technology from C-Cell. Proprietary pod systems are more profitable than ever in 2021 as the best concentrate manufacturers continue to block their market segments. The Zeuz pod is no exception. Look out for the solvent-free version in the not too distant future! We tried one of the R&D versions two weeks ago and it was certainly a ripper.

710 Labs – Rainbow Belt Everything
The team at 710 Labs consider themselves Zkittlez fanatics and you can see by the quality of their latest line of Rainbow Belts products why they are so lucky to have won. The now famous strain from Archive Seed Bank has been known for some famous hash runs in recent years and pairs Zkittlez with MoonBow (the Zkittlez x Dosidos cross). While 710 Labs is understandably excited about their new Percy Rosin Pods, we find that the entire range looks pretty good. Just look at how absolutely gorgeous these rosin and water hash look. Take it in your hands while it lasts.

Green Dot Labs – Sour Animal Black Label Live Rosin

While the bulk of the list focuses on the current west coast heat, there are still plenty of options for solid dabs in the Rockies. One of the most respected extractors in Colorado is the Green Dot Labs team. For this list, we go with their Sour Animal Live Rosin. The Sour Animal is the descendant of Sour Diesel and Animal Cookies BX2. Expect a taste and nose reminiscent of animal crackers with a hint of fuel aroma on the tail end.
Hype-worthy trends
HolyWater – E85 solvent-free + BHO pair
HolyWater combines solvent-free and BHO extracts like never before. (Courtesy HolyWater)
Back when Shatter was still ruling and there was the transition to Wet Terps, HolyWater was one of the most innovative companies around. And now, after jumping through the hoops for a couple of years to get legal, they’re ready to push the boundaries again. The first batches of E85 (Wedding Cake x Grandiflora Project 4516) we brought out of their Oakland lab were top notch. Solvent-free and hydrocarbon pairings are a great way to understand the taste differences between different types of hash. The deconstructed diamonds and sauce are cool too and don’t look intrusive. You just pick a fat diamond and dip it in the sauce yourself.
Mistifi – Houdini three-variety mixture
The Emerald Cup winners are less than a year away from their start, but they are slowly picking up speed. While there aren’t many shelves around yet, once you get your hands on one you can go on a veritable terp adventure. I thought blends were a gimmick a few years ago, then you saw them win the raisin and vape categories of the Emerald Cup for the past few years. If you rip up a Mistifi pen you’ll understand why I suspect mixes are here now to stay safe.

Sunset Connect – Temple Ball
Hash the way old hippies liked it. (Courtesy Sunset Connect)
One of the great hash lovers and educators of modern times was recently lost when the great Frenchy Cannoli died. Over the years, Frenchy shared his love with thousands who followed him online and those fortunate enough to learn directly from him how to make heat-pressed balls from aged ice water hash – temple balls. In his honor we had to set up a Sunset Connect temple ball, made exactly according to Frenchy’s teaching. Sunset’s Temple Balls were made shortly before Frenchy’s death and have been aging since July. Sunset Connect’s Temple Balls were likely the last to be commercially manufactured using its technology during its lifetime.

Fiore – C4 Live Rosin
Boom makes the dynamite: Fiore C4 Live rosin. (Courtesy Fiore)
Fiore’s pairing of Strawberry Banana and Triangle Kush in collaboration with Karisma is a throwback that reminded me of the Obama administration’s best Strawberry Banana cured live resins. But remember – the sweeter the terps, the more tender they tend to be. Keep them in the refrigerator to keep them right, or buy a bunch and toss a few in the freezer to keep the hype around for the long term.

Hash and Flowers — Honey Strawguava Live Hash Rosin

Aside from perhaps the new flower brand, Blueprint, it’s hard to point to a cannabis company that had a faster way to the top in 2021 than the absolute rock star rosin artisans at Hash and Flowers. Her rise to the top of the industry was fueled by elite refrigerant rosin, a piece of honey banana that tastes like candy, and a huge win over some former Emerald Cup and Cannabis Cup champions in the Transbay Challenge 2 drops of honey guava, the currently floating in the rec market. Happy hunting.
Alien Labs – Disposable Atom Apple Rosin

In the previous July issue of Hash Buzz, we set you up for Alien Labs 510-thread cartridges in wild quality. Remember, like with all cannabis extracts, the rule applies: fire on fire. Alien Labs’ new Rosin Disposables are the perfect example of this rule. With a wave of high-end people jumping into the throwaway game lately, Alien Labs easily surfs at the top with some of the other people we mentioned on this list.

Terp Hogz x Druck — Banana Z Ice water extract

Why are people so excited about printing? Let’s just say it’s all about access. Pressure has a direct link with Terp Hogz, which means the company has access to some of the most sought-after Z-Terps in the world. The first batches of the emerging brand looked solid, but the standout for us so far has certainly been the Banana Z. Keep it in the freezer to keep it beautiful.
