Cheeba Chews’ new caramel and chocolate taffy
I could be a long way from here, but I’ve noticed an interesting phenomenon of fatigue that is spreading across a wide variety of industries. In Hollywood, for example, even the greatest superhero films underperform at the box office – primarily because of the pandemic, but also because your average viewer has a dire case of superhero fatigue. In the cannabis industry, there seems to be an excruciating feeling of edible fatigue among consumers and industry insiders alike.
People are fed up with the same old super cute snacks and subpar gummies and are ready for a higher quality cannabis edible experience. But here’s the thing: As the edible market becomes increasingly diverse in its arsenal of product categories, I think interest in edible “treats” that people can incorporate into their consumption habits with greater care and specificity will grow again.
If any of these appeal to you and you’re still looking for a practical, tasty, appropriately sweet edible that offers a well-rounded high, the new line of Cheeba Chews with Caramel and Chocolate Taffy might be for you. For this review, I’ll be trying Cheebas Trifecta and Sleepy Time Taffy Chews.
First impressions
Cheeba Chews have been a respected staple in the cannabis edible market for a decade. Cheeba Chews was born in 2009 in Boulder, Colorado to founder James Howler and was born out of a desire to make edible laboratory testing more responsible and to offer an instantly accessible edible product that offers quality and consistency.
The new additions to the Cheeba Chews line – the Trifecta Caramel Taffy with a 1: 1: 1 CBG: CBD: THC ratio and the Sleepy Time Chocolate Taffy with a 2: 1 THC: CBN ratio – come in slim but inviting packs with 20 bite-sized chews. The gold-colored aesthetics of these packaging are reminiscent of the elegant, discreet luxury atmosphere of dark chocolate delicacies such as giant or skor bars. The back of the outer sleeve provides batch information and THC levels, and the front label provides instructions for accessing the separately packaged chews in the breakable plastic tray inside.
The individual chews are delivered in two stacked bowls of 10 pieces. Each part comes off the rest of the tray fairly easily, and the lining is accessible and easy to pull off. And because the tray was easy to use, I left the unbox with a sense of appreciation for the precision and security of how these chews are stored.
Trifecta caramel taffy
taste
With most edibles, you get a mix of vague cannabis extract flavor with the key ingredients that make up the product. Sometimes these flavors collide. At other times, they mix well. Fortunately, Cheeba Trifecta chews belong to the latter variety. These bite-sized caramel taffy chews give a flavor that gently mingles with the inherent cannabis flavor, and when it melts in your mouth you get the peace of mind that it’s cannabis-infused as advertised, while also delivering a noticeable caramel flavor. t too cute.
effectiveness
If this is your first time consuming Cheeba Chews, the company recommends starting with a chew and then giving yourself adequate time to observe the effects before ingesting more. As a regular consumer of flowers and edibles, I took the risk of taking two chewable tablets to get a good feel for what a less experienced consumer might feel after one. After about 50 minutes the effects were strong, but not too strong, and you couldn’t confuse them.
experience
Also unmistakable was the uniqueness of the intended 1: 1: 1 experience of the chew with 5 milligrams of THC, CBD and CBG, which was developed to offer a “mild psychoactive experience” and “promote a positive state of mind”. ”
I definitely enjoyed the balanced mixture of light psychoactivity and noticeable body relaxation, I was sufficiently stoned and just felt calm, relaxed and thoughtful for a good part of the day. I was also somewhat surprised by the mood-enhancing property of this chew, which seemed to hold up well after the other psychoactive effects had subsided.
Sleepy Time Chocolate Taffy
taste
The Sleepy Time chocolate taffy has a similarly enjoyable melting-in-your-mouth texture as the caramel chew, only with a significantly different taste experience. The chocolate taste was sweet, but earthy, and merged even more synergistically with the herbal ingredients in the chewing gum.
effectiveness
After trying the Trifecta-Taffy and being more than satisfied with its effectiveness, I decided to only try a Sleepy Time chew in the evening to test its effectiveness as a sleep aid. These chews offer a THC: CBN ratio of 2: 1 with 5 milligrams of THC and an additional dose of melatonin. Similar to the Trifecta-Taffy, it only took about 50 minutes to achieve the full effect.
experience
In light of my previous Cheeba experience, I tried a Sleepy Time chew quite late in the evening, around 10:15 pm, to prepare for the effects to kick in around the time I wanted to fall asleep. Once again, about 50 minutes later, I noticed that I was starting to drift a little. Then the slight rockiness became visible, which slowly penetrated my head. After another 15 minutes of getting ready for bed, my head hit my pillow and I was out in no time.
A lot of edibles, especially if I eat them at night, leave me with a weird hangover the next day. With this Cheeba Chew I woke up damn refreshed and not only wasn’t worn out, but also in a good mood – a rarity for the mornings in my house.
Bottom line
Quality and consistency are the things Cheeba Chews has hung his hat on from the start. The brand’s latest confectionery tells me it can continue to do so. If you suffer from edible fatigue, these practical Cheeba Chews offer a convincing texture, taste and delivery method for precise consumption and optimized, holistic effects. Whether you want to feel stoned, happy, or reasonably sleepy after a long day, Cheeba Chews can be worth your time.
