The power of Beyoncé’s CBD reveal

The internet is seething with Beyoncé’s interview in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar. Along with a photo spread showing a range of Americana looks that featured her own denim designs, the icon provided her fan base with updates on how she lived during the pandemic.

Knowles-Carter gave pointers to new music, discussed life with her children, and talked about how it has changed since she started recording music around the age of 10.

She also talks about hard work, creativity and oh yes – cannabis in the form of CBD and hemp.

“During the quarantine, I went from over indulgence to developing positive rituals that drew from previous generations and gave things my own touch. On my last tour, I discovered CBD and experienced its benefits for pain and inflammation. It helped with my restless nights and the excitement that comes from being unable to sleep. I have found healing properties in honey that will benefit me and my children. And now I’m building a hemp and honey farm. I even have beehives on my roof! “

While we can never repay Beyoncé Knowles-Carter for all the gifts she gave us as ordinary people prior to this revelation, we can appreciate how this enticing new information will affect us.

1. The impact this has

If Beyoncé is going to do something, chances are you and your mother will too. These are just the rules. By speaking openly about her uses of CBD, she gives more people the courage to see if CBD can help them get into the formation they have been aiming for.

Whether you’re staying at home or you’re a performance-minded professional wondering if CBD could help you, there’s nothing like a vote of confidence from Queen B herself.

2. The associated business potential

It would be presumptuous to believe that Beyoncé wants to sell her hemp or honey. She can leave retailing to her husband’s cannabis business and save her personal stash for friends and family. But at least we now know that she is definitely learning more about the cannabis plant.

Who knows how her interest in CBD will ultimately play out, but with her flair for innovation and her narrow prior knowledge, we shouldn’t count her as a potential player in the industry for the future.

3. The magic of the black girl who has this

The biggest takeaway from Beyoncé’s interview was how safe and comfortable she currently feels about who she is. As she ponders life as a creative force that deserves care, she admits that it takes conscious effort to feel balanced and to listen to what her body is telling her.

Like many black women trying to find peace and positivity, Beyoncé turned to natural medicine and embraced the power of the cannabis plant. Their version takes CBD and grows hemp. Other black girls’ versions might smoke loudly and enjoy edibles. Anyway, black women dare to use cannabis to be the best they can be in the world today, and that’s a beautiful thing.

The future of cannabis includes Beyonce because Beyonce is and always has been the future

Beyoncé was already a huge part of our lives, but now that she has this hemp-and-honey operation we just need to be even more excited about her.

While we may never be able to get our hands on her hemp or be ready for her jelly, we can still feel like Beyoncé when she gushes a CBD bath bomb or tastes a CBD tincture on our tongues.

That is power. And that will have to be enough for us for now.
