Jamie Evans on Herbacée – your French-inspired, cannabis-infused, non-alcoholic sparkling wine
Cannabis Beverage Expert, Author and Certified Wine Specialist, Jamie Evans, unveiled Herbacée on July 15th, dubbed “the nation’s first non-alcoholic, cannabis-infused sparkling wine in honor of French-inspired blends” containing both THC and CBD. Evans was inspired by selections from Bordeaux, Rhône, Provence, Champagne, Loire and other renowned French wine regions.
How does a fine, sparkling rosé or blanc blend sound in the heat of summer? It turns out that there are alternative ways to enjoy finely crafted wine blends without alcohol. Herbacée – “herbaceous” in French – is a new botanical drink that celebrates both the flower and the vine.

Cannabis-infused wines are taking hold and connoisseurs are slowly starting to take notice. Evans couldn’t be more excited to share their offerings with the world. “In recent years, wine lovers may have met with some of the cannabis wine pioneers who paved the way, including House of Saka, Rebel Coast and Viv & Oak,” Evans told High Times.
“Together, we can continue to raise awareness of this exciting category and work together to bring cannabis-infused non-alcoholic wine products to new consumers as it is still a relatively new segment of beverages,” Evans continues. “While Herbacée is the latest addition, we look forward to the collaboration and education to keep the movement moving.”
There is great excitement among investors about the future of cannabis beverages as alternatives to alcohol are explored. According to recent reports, the global cannabis beverage market is estimated at $ 2.8 billion by 2025.
Also known as The Herb Somm, Evans provides a gourmet guide to the world of cannabis and is the author of two cannabis-centered books: Cannabis Drinks: Secrets to Crafting CBD and THC Beverages at Home and The Ultimate Guide to CBD: Explore the World by Cannabidiol .
After traveling the world studying viticulture in the legendary Champagne and Alsace wine regions of France, Evans has built a knowledge of the winemaking industry and recently received the French Wine Scholar (FWS) certification from the Wine Scholar Guild with the highest honors.
“In many ways, it feels like my educational background and career has led to this point,” said Evans. “Combining my two passions in one product is a dream come true. Herbacée highlights the synergies between wine and cannabis. In combination it is pure magic. “
The more we learn about THC and CBD, the more we learn about how they work synergistically together. Adding this element to the wine opens up new possibilities.
Evans said that many of the world’s most sought-after wines are blended, especially in France, hence the concept of Herbacée.
Evans and the introduction of Herbacée
Herbacée will be launched on the Californian market in autumn 2021, starting with Sparkling Rose, a rosé blend inspired by the South of France and made primarily from Grenache, Mourvèdre and Cinsault.
Sparkling Rose will initially be available in single-serving tins and packs of four. Evans also plans to release Herbacée’s other offering, Sparkling Blanc, in the spring of 2022, as well as a range of still cannabis-infused wines and other wine-based elixirs that we sell in 750ml bottles and cans.
Each serving of Herbacée contains a blend of THC and CBD from Vertosa, which describes itself as a leading partner in advanced infusion technology. Santa Rosa-based BevZero helped create the alcohol-free blends, and Herbacée’s initial launch will include wine from the best Central Coast wine regions of California, where Evans once lived, and wine and viticulture at California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo has studied.
Once import restrictions due to COVID-19 are lifted, Herbacée will begin adding French wines as the base for its cannabis-infused boutique products.
