How do you take your vaporized weed and convert it into cannabis oil?
It is no longer a surprise that weeds that have already evaporated can be converted into cannabis oil in a very simple manner. However, only a few know how to carry out the processes.
After vaping a batch, a user’s first instinct is to throw away the withered and brown-colored residue in the vaporizer’s chamber. While this withered pot still has some cannabinoids in it (unlike when marijuana is smoked and no residue is left except ashes).
This article is a comprehensive guide to converting vaporized weed into cannabis oil. Read on for how to extract the leftover medication in a vaporized weed.
This is a previously used bud that can be found in a dry herb vaporizer. It can be dark or brown and has been exposed to temperatures below 190 ° C.
If an AVB is almost dark in color, it means it has overheated in the vaporizer, which is why most of the medications it should contain have most likely burned off – making this batch unusable.
Whenever an already vaporized bud is smoked, it is less rewarding. The user will experience a particularly smoky and harsh effect that most likely makes the throat extremely dry and sore. It is not advisable to smoke this.
Vaped weed can be used to create several by-products of cannabis. In order not to waste the leftover cannabinoid, it is commonly either used to make cannabis oil or it can be poured into food. It is used less often than capsules and cannabis butter.
What makes those vaporized buds perfect for this product is that it has been decarboxylated – the process of heating fresh weed buds to eliminate the extra carboxyl rings that are present in them.
In addition, they hardly change the taste and aroma of the food or the oil; This is because their strong flavors and terpene properties have evaporated.
Therefore, these dry buds cannot be detected in any product for which you are using them.
The vaped weed has lost most of its components when used on its own. Therefore it is always advisable to squeeze out and concentrate the remaining potent ingredients.
People find it hard to believe that the aforementioned buds were used to make cannabis oil, as the concentrated end product is also as effective as if it were made from fresh weed buds.
Now for the main reason you are reading this article.
There are three methods for this infusion. They can be done with the use of;
An extraction machine,
A slow cooker
A cooker.
Since it is not possible to obtain these cannabis compounds without an oil solvent, a preferred oil must be provided to serve as the primary solvent. This carrier oil will be responsible for absorbing the dissolved cannabis compounds.
Commonly used carrier oils include:
Grapeseed oil
almond oil
Coconut oil
Avocado oil
MCT oil
If you are not interested in any of these oils, there are several others to choose from.
The necessary equipment and ingredients
- Buds that have already evaporated (AVB)
- An oven and a stove
- Sieve with an even mesh or cheesecloth
- A Dutch oven, oil press machine, or pressure cooker
- Carrier oil
- measuring cup
The method selected determines which of these devices will be used.
Using an extraction machine
This is an advanced method of peeling off the canna compounds in the oil. There are suction machines that are operated automatically (with electricity) and manually (with workers). Either of the two is a good option, it all depends on what they can afford as the electric puller costs more than the manual puller.
The disadvantage of these machines is that they cannot be used for large-scale production. They are only efficient with small amounts of capacity. While the main advantage people find the machine attractive is the purity and safety of the cannabis oil produced. The waiting time is also short.
The process
Put all the ingredients in the machine and let it run for at least an hour.
You can also follow the instructions that came with the machine.
Use a slow cooker
All kitchens have a slow cooker, so this is a fairly simple and inexpensive way to get the cannabis ingredients out of the vaporized weed.
The process
- Mix the selected oil and evaporated weeds in a pan on the slow cooker.
- Apply minimal heat and let it simmer for at least 4 hours but no more than 8 hours. This gives the oil more to absorb the cannabinoids from the vaporized buds.
- Sift your mixture with your colander or cheesecloth to separate the vaporized buds from the cannabis oil.
Use a hob
This is used when there is no slow cooker or extraction machine. In this case a Dutch oven is used. The process is more or less similar to using a slow cooker. The only difference is that water is added periodically to prevent the mixture from drying out and burning.
The process
- Using a glass, add both ingredients and mix thoroughly.
- Carefully place the glass in the oven with 2-3 cups of water. Cook over a low flame.
- Gradually decrease the heat and add more water if necessary.
- Sift the mixture to separate the AVB from the cannabis oil.
The downside to this method is that when done indoors, it gives the house a whole weed smell.
Preservation of the end product
Cannabis oil can be stored in a dark, cool, and dry place like a cupboard or refrigerator.
Important information is that cannabis oil must not be exposed to light, heat and air for long. Otherwise, the quality and effectiveness may be reduced. Having a refrigerator gives you a better chance of controlling the temperature.
There you have it, three ways you can convert already vaped weeds into cannabis oil. I hope this article has been informative and helpful.
