6 Weed Products Comedian Jon Gabrus can’t live without it

In 2005, Jon Gabrus began performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) Theater in New York. He found his way into several weird improv troops and teams, including Mailer Daemon, fwand, The Law Firm, and Your F’d Up Family. He wrote and even single-handedly starred on his own one-man show Blackout Drunk, which tells stories of being smeared and making ill-considered decisions. He then encourages viewers to do the same by assisting special guest bartenders and drinking games. It wasn’t long before both audiences and industry pros realized his hilarious stage preference, which undoubtedly earned him a regular podium spot on MTV2’s Guy Code for five seasons, as well as recurring roles on television shows like Younger, Comedy Bang! Bang! and The Hotwives of Las Vegas.

Gabrus is also a well-known cannabis advocate who was part of the inspiration for his High and Mighty podcast starring Jon Gabrus. The podcast received over 2.1,000 reviews on Apple Podcasts, earning it a coveted 4.8-star spot and including some of Jon’s entertaining (and famous) friends including Rory Scovel, Julie Klausner, Matt Besser, and many more. His screen presence ranges from the silly guy to the lovable teddy bear, who can convince with his charming smile. After chatting with him for an hour about some of his current favorite cannabis products, it’s easy to see how his welcoming and friendly personality just shines through on the screen.

Here are six of his favorite products that both helped him decompress while he was not performing and helped him get through the weirdness of 2020 and 2021.

Cannavis Lemon Lime THC Syrup

“My tolerance has gone through the roof in the last year and making cannabis drinks was one of my most important steps during the quarantine,” said Gabrus. “I put half a shot of the Cannavis lemon-lime syrup in one of my iced teas and my day will be a lot better.”

Available in California, cannavis syrups allow consumers to create aromatic infusion beverages by adding them to their favorite recipes, or simply enjoy the delicious syrup on its own. The syrups are sugar and gluten free and contain no genetically modified ingredients.

Space Coyote Pre-Rolls

“When it comes to pre-rolls, I’m a huge Space Coyote fan. They’re kind of permeated and I think they just have a great bloom, ”said Gabrus. “I’m a bit of a kid, so I have to reward myself a lot. I’ll say to myself, ‘Oh, you have this great space coyote that you just bought, when you start writing you can light it up in the evening.’ ”

Space Coyote offers a collection of indica, sativa, and hybrid joints that also include resin and hash options.

Lake Grade Pre-Rolls

“They kind of look like cigarettes … they have a little white filter, so it’s nice to be able to walk down the street with them and not attract too much attention. I loved taking long walks during quarantine just to get out of my home. I was stoned to the bone and just went to the store for a cold brew just to have some exercise, sunlight, and an hour of my day. “

Tough Mama Infused Pre-Rolls

“It’s hard to find companies that use hemp wraps for their blunts,” said Gabrus. “They are great. The taste is good, they are a little infused and they hit hard. They also have great branding that really worked for me. It was like choosing a horse in a horse race. I thought, ‘I love this name so let me go ahead and try it out.’ ”

Tough Mama Blunts are fortified with THC oil and available in indica, sativa and hybrid strains.

Higher Edibles GF salted canna corn kernels

“I’m not that big of a candy guy so it is always exciting to come across savory edibles,” said Gabrus. “This company called Higher Edibles makes more or less cannabis-infused corn nuts. Like a 100 milligram bag, they’re so easy to eat. It’s like popcorn and so nice to have a hearty weed snack on. There aren’t many of these products out there and it seems like a bit of an untapped market. ”

Kiva Confiseries farm fruit chews

“Kiva has a number of edibles and they really destroy them,” said Gabrus. “I don’t think you can legally say that, but I think I can do it for this article alone: They taste just like a starburst that was my favorite candy when I was growing up. When you’re 39 years old, not only can you sit around and eat a bag of Starbursts, but if Starburst is an anti-anxiety drug, you can justify it. I like to consume about 40 milligrams of these things before bed. ”
