6 Weed Brand Comedian Matt Besser can’t live without it
You may know him as Sparks Department Captain Miller in Reno 911 !, Dave in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Crazy Ira in Parks and Recreation, or from his numerous appearances on blockbuster TV shows like Frasier, Curb Your Enthusiasm and How I. Met your mother. It is undeniable that wherever Matt Besser goes, comedy will follow.
Along with Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts and Amy Poehler, he founded the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), an improvisational theater and training company that paves the way for a wide variety of aspiring young comedians (Disclosure: I trained at UCB) to develop their craft in Improvisation, sketch and comedy.
In his current stand-up special, Matt Besser: Pot Humor, he’ll take on another challenging endeavor: entertaining viewers at the Northwest Cannabis Club in Portland who are just stoned for an hour. He does it by hilariously recalling the long memories he and his college friends had to put back to get weed again during the day – including the drive from Amherst College to Albany in the middle of the night because “a guy, that her boyfriend knew ”, sold weed. He also remembered with me some amazing phish gigs he had witnessed when he started smoking weed in college before anyone knew who Phish was.
While he usually doesn’t light up before a gig, Besser sat down to speak to Weedmaps about some of his favorite brands to consume offstage.
Cannabiotix L’Orange
“I think I’m an orange guy,” Besser said. “I really like Cannabiotix as a label because their things always seem so fresh. I used to ask what’s the best, but now I’m asking what’s the latest or the freshest from the truck. Your things are always so sticky. “
L’Orange is a sativa-dominant flower with 24-28% THC, the aftereffects of which are described as energizing, happy and creative. This flower is a cross of the award-winning Hybrid Orange Crush and the uplifting Lemon Burst, and the buds have extremely sticky resinous trichomes that stick to your fingertips when broken down.
Ember Valley orange peel
“I’ve always said it was my favorite, but I haven’t seen it in a while,” he said. “The problem is that you can’t get too attached to a product because it could be sold out the next time you visit the pharmacy. Once you find something you like, it may be gone for the next three months, so I try not to get too attached to any particular brand. “
Orange Peels is a hybrid cross between Clementine and Purple Punch with 22.36% THC and a strong citrus-orange aroma.
Green Rozé
“I shouldn’t mention any of these because they sell out quickly,” joked Besser. Ironically, Green Habitat’s Rozé is currently sold out in several locations.
“I’ve always been drawn to sativa. More power for those who prefer to get indica, but I’m not the type who just wants to blow my mind with weed. “
Green Habitat’s Rozé is described as having strawberry aromas and flavors and contains around 25% THC.
3C movement elven sativa
“The moonrocks are not something you can smoke casually, but I did it as an experiment for my podcast improv4humans,” said Besser. “In this version of moon rock, all of the kief and resin was layered on a bud. Although I don’t usually take part, I was really impressed. “
The sativa strain of Clockwork Elves is an extremely potent combination of sativa flower and sativa derived kief. Each bud is rolled in kief, which gives it a brownish to brown color. Give it a try if you like sativas and are extremely high.
Tikun Olams Alaska
“I’m also a huge container fan… If I like the container, I’ll reuse it for all of my weed products. I’m a really big fan of the Tikun containers and I use them a lot. “
With uplifting effects, the Alaska strain has been reported by consumers to relieve a number of medical symptoms including inflammation, pain, and nausea.
Charlotte’s Web CBD Ointment
More oriented towards cannabidiol, Besser remarked: “When I discovered that CBD actually worked – and actually worked against my back pain – I couldn’t believe it. It seemed too good to be true. “
He said he particularly likes Charlotte’s Web’s arthritis pain and pain reliever ointment for his back, and that CBD is the only product he has possibly “most medicinally” used.
