5 varieties that will be on the menu in September

This month from The Drop, Dante Jordan’s column that rounds up all the strains and dabs from the best brands and breeders that are not to be missed considering the expected releases from Cactus Farms, Deep Creek Gardens and more.

Another month, another batch of fresh varieties from the gardens of brands we love.

Let’s get started right away – here are five flavors that will be on the menu in September that you should definitely put in your pipe.

Cactus Farms: PYT Jack

PYT Jack is a strain from Travis Scotts Cactus Farms grown by Connected Cannabis in California and Arizona. The genetics aren’t out there, but judging by the purple-green colors and that funky, gaseous, sweet taste, I’d say a certain gelato line is definitely at play.

To be honest, it kind of smells and hits like Biscotti. When I first smoked biscotti, it was one of those highs that made me dumb but not necessarily in an uplifting or calming direction; I was just high as hell and very conscious of my thoughts. This is how PYT beat Jack for you.

Cactus Farms originally released this strain in July, but the second batch is coming out in September. Hurry up and get it while you can. Associated strains tend to sell out instantly, and the same goes for literally anything to do with Travis Scott’s name.

No middle: Goudaberry

No mids in Washington heats up anything – a little high at the end of the price, but still hot, so you get what you pay for. In September it comes on the market with a fresh drop of Goudaberry.

Goudaberry is from Exotic Genetix, which is known for famous strains like Cookies and Cream and Grease Monkey. The indica-dominant hybrid is a cross of Red Pop and Rainbow Chip with a sweet and sour chemical smell and taste. When asked how it smokes, the No Mids team said, “When you inhale, you get what appears to be two like a ‘two-tone’ taste: you get a sour, chemical taste on the front end that turns into a mellow pretty quickly The transition passes over the heavy, sour berry aroma in the back end. ”

Goudaberry is expected to be pretty harsh on the effects side of things, so No Mids recommends her to people who have already developed a strong tolerance for highly potent cannabis.

Deep Creek Gardens: Kiwi

Man listen I stayed in Oregon last winter and smoked one of the best strains I’ve ever smoked in my life: Kiwi from Deep Creek Gardens. It had that sweet floral taste that makes you smack your lips after every puff, and the effects are so damn strong and uplifting that I always reserved it for my evening walks after writing. Get it when the freshest batch hits the shelves this month.

Kiwi is a cross of Ice Queen and Blue Heron, bred by Dynasty Genetics. Your nose will perceive all kinds of fruity aromas brought out by the terpenes of ferns, lime and terpinolene. It’s super loud, it’s super tasty, and the high is absolutely smacking.

Deep Creek Gardens has been growing kiwi for about three years, which lets you know how special it is. It’s one of the brand’s longer flowering buds. About the history of the strain, Deep Creek told me: “[Kiwi’s] The original name was Ghetto Bird and we sold it in the Oregon market as G-Bird because of the negative connotations behind the name. It was named after a skateboard trick, but it’s also a police helicopter. Dynasty and we have decided that kiwi represents the strain, its properties and the energy we cultivate much better. “

Malek’s premium cannabis: strawberry slurpee

Taste. This is where it starts and where it ends with Malek’s cannabis in small batches. When I was in Denver in June I bought a couple of Malek’s Gushers from the Denver Cookies Store and boyoyoyyyy was the tastiest weed I’ve eaten in a long time. Just so damn fruity, and the smell really carried over to the taste. So I had to see what Malek launches in September and the answer is a first drop of Strawberry Slurpee, grown by Malek in partnership with Breckenridge Organic Therapy.

Strawberry Slurpee is a sativa-dominant cross of XJ13 and StrawNana that has been around for a number of years. Malek Noueiry, the owner and namesake of the company, told me that it smells and tastes very light and hazy, similar to an Amnesia Haze or Super Silver Haze on the nose. “Overall, it’s a very smooth smoke with a lot of flavor from start to finish. In my opinion one of the most unique and consistent sativas available in Colorado right now. ”

The dominant terpenes of Strawberry Slurpee are pinene and ocimen. It’s a euphoric, uplifting high, perfect for any time of the day.

Hits: Da funk

Da Funk himself comes from the gardens of the Chemdog guy. It is one of the first varieties of the variety and is grown in small batches. This means that Smash Hits grew her in limited quantities in order to be able to focus on perfecting the strain and maximizing its chemical properties i.e. smell, taste, effects and overall experience.

Da Funk was bred by Compound Genetics. It comes from the cross between First Class Funk and White Runtz S1. According to Smash Hits, Da Funk hits the nose and tongue with a mixture of mint cream, heavy gas and floral notes, supported by berry, citrus and biscuit undertones, all thanks to an abundance of caryophylls, limes, humulene and linalool. The effect is said to have a strong mental clarity and full body relaxation. Get it when you’re in Massachusetts.
