5 varieties that are on the menus in November
This month from The Drop, Dante Jordan’s column rounding up all the strains and dabs from the best brands and breeders that are not to be missed when looking at the expected releases from Pure Beauty, Grizzly Peak and Cannabiotix.
Another month and a whole host of new strains to put in your pipe and smoke. Here are the cannabis strains that are on the menu in November.
Pure beauty: Casbah Gas
I had some lava cake from Pure Beauty during my last layover in California, and I can tell you the boy got hit. When I started working on The Drop this month, it was one of the first brands to hit me. Timing was perfect as the company informed me that a new in-house strain was on the way: Casbah Gas.
Pure Beauty Casbah Gas is a backcross from Super Silver Haze, which means that SSH was crossed with itself to create this strain. The nose pops with aromatic notes of cheese gas and a slight sweetness. The taste is similar and is brought into the mouth by a terpene profile rich in ocimen (very rare), limonene, and caryophyllene. For effects, you can expect Casbah Gas to strike like a Super Silver Haze: a cerebral high with mood-lifting effects that pairs well with daytime productivity.
Pure Beauty has been working on this in-house strain for about two years, from pheno selection to development. Now it’s finally ready to hit the market so make sure you catch the first Casbah gas drop in November.

Grizzly Peak: Big Steve’s Egyptian Kush
Grizzly Peak makes the shit out of grass.
Last weekend I slipped through Sweet Flower onto Melrose to get something flowery. It turned out that something was Grizzly Peak’s Egyptian Kush. She’s a perfect nighttime strain for anyone who wants to sit back and feel stupidly high. Not only is it severely affected by potency, but you will smoke a piece of history too.
As the story goes, the breeder of the strain, Big Steve, received some seeds from Egypt at the 1978 Grateful Dead Rocking the Cradle concert. He has had her on deck ever since. Over the years he worked on the strain and found the best phenotype. Then he took this mysterious Egyptian phenotype and crossed it with a Gelato x London Pound Cake 75 to create Egyptian Kush.
The flower is super sticky and covered in trichomes. Thanks to the terpene profile that dominates in caryophylls, it develops a mixture of sweet, pine-like and gaseous aromas. You will most often get a couch-lock experience after meeting this strain.

Cannabiotix: Rainbow Punch Gelato
I stopped in Orange County on a road trip through California last year because I needed weed. I had no idea which stores were cracking – or brands. I snuck through Weden in Santa Ana and picked the first premium brand with a strain I loved. That brand eventually became Cannabiotix (CBX) and the strain was Super Silver Haze. Fire.
When I put this month’s drop together I thought I should see what CBX has in store for people. Rainbow Punch Gelato was the answer – the strain was grown for about six months with November being its first drop.
Rainbow Punch Gelato was grown by Cannabiotix itself. It’s a cross of Purple Rain (Orange Crush x Purple Punch) and Gelato # 41. In the nose, RPG unfolds a mixture of fruity, candy-like terpenes with slightly sour undertones. The variety has a slight funky taste. These aromas and flavors come from a terpene profile that is dominant in ferns, limonene, caryophyllene, and myrcene.
The Rainbow Punch Gelato experience offers relaxing, calming and euphoric effects. It’s a great afternoon smoke that will keep you hooked for the rest of the day with a heavy head high.

Flow Kana: Peanut Butter Breath
Flow Kana has a fresh batch of peanut butter breath, sometimes called a peanut butter cup, that comes out of the earth for the tips of your heads. It’s part of the brand’s Farmer’s Reserve line, the highest quality product from Flow Kana. It was grown in small batches in Humboldt County.
Flow Kanas Peanut Butter Breath was bred by Empress Farms, although the strain was originally bred by ThugPug Genetics and is a cross of Do-Si-Dos and Mendo Breath F2. It smells of citrus fruits mixed with berries and has an earthy finish in the taste. The terpene profile is dominant in limonene, caryophyllene and myrcene.
Peanut Butter Breath’s high is smooth and happy. You will feel super stoned and happy for several hours.

Veritas Fine Cannabis: The Sauce
Veritas Fine Cannabis in Colorado develops absolute heat. You should definitely see its bloom when you get the chance. Last week during MJBizCon I was fortunate enough to get hold of Cherry Punch and Durban Kush from the brand and – boy. Either way, boy – terps. So of course I wanted to see what Veritas Fine Cannabis could put on the shelves in November: a fresh batch of The Sauce.
The sauce is a cross between Green Ribbon BX and Gorilla Glue that smells like pine, gas and light citrus. The taste has a spicy, skunky finish, which is expressed in a terpene profile that is dominated by limonene, pinene and caryophyllene.
You can expect focused and happy effects from The Sauce that are great for getting shit off. So, if you’re looking for a strain to get you through a busy day, this strain could be your next favorite. Cop it while supplies last.
