4 Weed Products Comedian Jozalyn Sharp Can’t Live Without

Nevada native comedian Jozalyn Sharp cracks jokes about her rural upbringing, relationships, sex and more. A semi-finalist in NBC’s 2018 search for stand-up comedians, Sharp’s comedic timing and penchant for stand-ups shaped her experience of life from an early age. After high school, she turned down three full-ride scholarships to pursue her dreams in comedy. Today, Sharp sees enchanting audiences on the Las Vegas Strip with her playful honesty and heartbreaking stories – including Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club at The Linq Hotel.

Not only does she get the laughs, but she’s also a long-time supporter and user of cannabis. “I have used cannabis recreationally for most of my adult life and medicinally since 2013,” she shared. “I was in the cannabis industry as a budtender for a short time because I wanted to help people the way good budtenders helped me.”

Sharp’s background as a budtender opened her up to the nuances and potential healing properties of weed. She uses a few strains to treat the chronic pain she has been managing since her hip surgery at age 12. Other strains give her energy and clarity. “I love smoking terpinolene-dominant strains before a show or before doing chores,” she said. “It’s also a great cerebral boost, so video games and chatting with friends can become even more enjoyable… There are so many ways to use cannabis to help people from consumption to topical use.”

Sharp didn’t hold back when asked about her funniest history with cannabis, saying: “I always think back to when my best friend Hillary tried edibles for the first time. We were at a comedy festival here in Las Vegas and she was my guest.” Hillary, Sharp told Weedmaps, has never tried edibles.

“I found her at a slot machine, put the brownies down and decided to go to the bathroom. When I come back, the brownie is completely gone… I was absolutely certain that even for me, an edible veteran, that was too much. I almost passed out. It was at that point that I realized what was going to happen and I told her she was going to be a lot higher than she had ever been in her life.” She continued, “We were lucky she didn’t panic but she gave to me had a borderline anxiety attack as she fell asleep in the third row for Dave Attell. Nothing beats one of your comedic heroes possibly seeing you bring a comatose audience to their show to start a great relationship. Luckily it’s Vegas so there were a lot weirder people to notice than a sweaty chick and her unconscious friend.”
