What if we treated cannabis protests like the Freedom Convoy? – Cannabis News, Lifestyle

What if we treated cannabis protests like the Freedom Convoy? It’s not out of the realm of possibility. Canada legalized recreational cannabis in 2018. Despite enormous problems with the regime, most people seem content with their irradiated, legal corporate weed.

But what if Canada hadn’t legalized it? What if Justin’s Liberals broke that promise shortly after they came to power, as they did with electoral reform? No doubt the 4/20 protest would have had an aggressive tone the following year. Now imagine the protesters refused to leave on April 21st. And then the same thing the next day and the next day.

Next thing you know it’s been three weeks and the 4/20 protest is as strong as ever. Even people who don’t smoke cannabis want to show their support. Liberals promised legalization, so protesters won’t leave until that happens. Finally, cannabis connoisseurs came out of the shacks to elect Liberal MPs.

Their sense of betrayal would be as natural as that of the truckers once called “heroes”.

Cannabis protests and the Freedom Convoy

Suppose the local Vancouver establishment, already fed up with the April 20 protest, tells police to shut it down. And so, in three days, Vancouver police used a record amount of pepper spray and stun grenades, arresting 200 people and returning nearly 400 charges against 100 of them. Oh, and blame key organizers for “mischief.”

Meanwhile, the RCMP would order the freezing of over 200 bank accounts (including corporate accounts that manage the millions in donations). The RCMP would also tag nearly 300 Bitcoin addresses and pressure local crypto exchanges not to transact using those accounts.

The most egregious example of abuse of power would come from the federal government. Vancouver Police would ask for more resources to disperse the 4/20 crowd. But the federal government would react with the emergency law.

As one columnist put it, it would be like asking Justin Trudeau to help him patch a bathroom leak. And then Justin responds by nationalizing Canadian Tire.

Suddenly, Canadians who stand up for their right to peaceful assembly would be labeled enemies of the people. Relentless propaganda from the corporate press would turn Canadians against the cannabis protesters.

And it would be easy.

April 20th is the globally recognized day for cannabis users. It is also Adolf Hitler’s birthday.

50% of Vancouver residents are of European descent. The vast majority of Canadian ancestors are from Europe. Based on previous experience, it can be assumed that a good part of the cannabis protests of 20.4. consists of people with fair or “white” skin. Ignore any visible minority and call the protest a symptom of white supremacy and white privilege.

Bail denied

Let’s assume that in our hypothetical cannabis protest, one of the organizers of 4/20, accused of mischief, is arrested and denied bail. Suppose the judge refusing bail was a former Liberal candidate for Parliament. The judge probably should have backed off, right?

That’s what happened to Tamara Lich, one of the loudest supporters of the Freedom Convoy. It would be unfair to call these people leaders or organizers as there were many egos vying for the media spotlight. Lich launched the infamous GoFundMe account, which served propaganda interests to find the most far-right supporters and expose them as idiots.

So the corporate press focused on this one guy with the Confederate flag. And so no one could locate the man who brought back a swastika flag (despite a cash reward for any lead that would lead to identification). The only time he was ever seen was when CBC was interviewing someone and he was in the background.

Imagine if something similar happened in cannabis protests? Imagine a speaker on CBC saying with a straight face, “THC is the code for Hitler class. Cannabis with higher THC levels will turn you into a white supremacist even faster. That’s why racists are always looking for high-THC cannabis.”

Insane? Considering the media calling the OK symbol hate speech (the results of a 4chan prank), the above scenario is not out of the question.

How easily cannabis protesters could become the convoy of freedom

With legal cannabis and the 4/20 protest lasting a day, cannabis protesters are unlikely to meet the same fate as the Freedom Convoy. But the possibility is there. Watch how quickly the Freedom Convoy went from overwhelming support to national condemnation.

It’s amazing, but many people still trust the corporate press. But that trust is eroding. And when trust dwindles, governments cannot turn whole groups of people into political scapegoats.

If there’s any lesson to be learned from cannabis protests like 4/20 or the Freedom Convoy, it’s time to stop trusting the corporate press. The “mainstream media” is not mainstream and does not report the facts without bias. You have an agenda, and often it’s about protecting the system at your expense.
