This Detroit man ran a Cannabis Cash Cow machine in front of his house for 4 years

A Detroit man has been arrested after police found several kilos of cannabis and 18 firearms at his home, where he allegedly operated a cannabis vending machine outside.

According to a criminal complaint, Marcellus Cornwell allegedly operated the machine that made him about $2,000 a day selling weed and pills, but mostly weed. And he’d apparently been running his Cash Cow cannabis machine for the past four years.

Police officers conducted surveillance at Cornwell’s home and participated in two controlled suspected weed purchases from the marijuana vending machine in February and March 2022, according to WXYZ.

They then carried out a search warrant at the last known address in March and eventually arrested Cornwell and another man.

Cornwell told police he made most of his living from the cannabis vending machine. He obviously made a living on two grand a day.

Detroit is finally set to allow in-store sales

After months of delay, the Detroit City Council finally passed an ordinance in early April allowing the sale of adult-use cannabis to begin.

Detroit’s new recreational cannabis law, meanwhile, has sparked a land grab and is driving up the prices of properties where cannabis dispensaries plan to open stores.

Detroit is clearly keen to catch up and capitalize on Michigan’s lucrative cannabis industry. Apparently Marcellus Cornwell just couldn’t wait.
