RS-11 is the HighLight variety from January 2025
Does the burden of the New Year make you a little nervous or depressed?
Big cannabis flavor hunters should look to the weed shop for a hot star in dispensaries this January. Across the United States, the three-year-old hype variety Rainbow Sherbert #11 (RS-11) is making its way onto hundreds more menus.
Available in premium flower, cheap ounces, dabs, vapes, and even tinctures, RS-11 delivers big, tropical core nectar juice flavors and versatile, fun effects. RS-11 has grown so big that it has become our Leafly HighLight strain for January 2025.
Reviewers say RS-11 exudes notes of apricot, peach, and citrus. It makes them focus, giggly and relaxed – which sounds pretty perfect for games or hobbies.
RS-11 is a sibling of Zoap and is ranked #30 in traffic on Leafly Strains. It is now one of the top 300 strains in stores nationwide, and hundreds of stores have added it this year.
Leafly reviewers give RS-11 a 4.4 out of 5 rating after 140 reviews, and 6,966 have marked it as a favorite.
About a fifth of Leafly reviewers say RS-11 helps them calm down, relieve pain, or ease their blues.
RS-11's parents include this cross between OG Kush and Z, named “Pink Guava” after the juice of the same name. Oakland, California-based breeder DEO Farms crossed his Pink Guava with a Sunset Sherbert, and all of those flavors can be found in the offspring.
“Leafly” reviewers rave: “The candy-guava-sour-citrus flavor profile is one of the best I've had in 30 years as a puffin bud.”
“The RS11 variety really tastes like Rainbow Sherbet.”
Leafly reviewer
RS-11 has versatile effects that are halfway between calming and energetic. If you're getting creative, RS11 could calm your inner critic.
One reviewer writes, “If you create art, try this strain.” Mentally energetic but without tension or anxiety. RS11 has a place in art heaven.”
Where to get the best RS-11 in the USA?
Growers and extractors have flooded the US with RS-11 flower, vapes, dabs, and even edibles. Over 1,600 stores in the country with menus on Leafly sell the strain.

Deo Farms created RS-11 by crossing the OZ Kush project “Pink Guava” with a Sunset Sherbert. This resulted in the Zoap variety. LA brand Wizard Trees picked up two of Zoap's siblings, the Rainbow Sherbert child numbered 11 and 54; hence RS-11 and RS-54.
Wizard Trees is working hard on this line, with a number of RS-11 crosses like 11:11, meaning RS-11 has crossed back on itself to try and improve it.
Meanwhile, Barney's Farm and DOJA have released Exclusive RS11x Banana OG.
Unofficial RS-11 seeds are available in abundance from seed manufacturers and seed banks around the world, but their quality or authenticity can vary greatly.

What awards has RS-11 won?
Magic Marker is RS11 x permanent marker. (David Downs/Leafly)
RS-11 has many winners in it from the OG Kush, Z and Sherbert lineages. RS-11 is the second-ranked leafy strain of 2023. Its niece, Zoap, is a 2024 Budtender's Choice strain across the US. An RS-11 Cross Magic marker suffered the heaviest impact at the 2024 Zalympix competition in Michigan.
Which terpenes are contained in RS-11?
The smell of weed comes from taste molecules, including terpenes. If you average the lab tests of flowers labeled “RS-11,” the levels of caryophyllene, limonene, and humulene are relatively high. These and other terpenes, as well as other flavor molecules, give RS-11 its loud scent of tree fruit sap, citrus, and fuel.
More highlights in January
If you can't find RS-11 near you, look for strains in the wheelhouse – including:
Zoap

RS-11's niece. Zoap is created by crossing two RS plants and selecting an offspring that has a clearly detergent or “soapy” terp.
RS-54

Wizard Trees also popularized this similar sister of the RS-11. If you need a rainbow in your skull, RS-54 offers similar results.

OK, that's your Leafly highlight for January 2025. Good luck with your fitness goals and New Year's resolutions. The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is never reachable, but with RS-11 you can enjoy the journey to the fullest.
