Let's put a busy election month behind us and get back into the happy warrior pose.
Leafly Buzz – our popular West Coast fireflower collection is back for Turkey Day and the holiday season. We're talking about wild, treacherous beasts here. Plus some truly stunning sun grown plants.
Here's what we'd bring to a fancy celebration all winter long.
Here is Leafly Buzz for November 2024.
Data grinder
Which varieties are in Leafly's database of 9,000 varieties? (Sasha Beck/Leafly)
We got out our calculators, connected them to the Leafly strain database, and ran a scan for Zaza. This is what the statistics tell us.
Durban poison
Durban Poison from Whitethorn Valley Farm – via Farm Cut (David Downs/Leafly)
Are you worried about short, cold, wet days? Some Durban and coffee will help you prepare the house for visitors. The classic sativa is available as a flower, an e-cigarette and sometimes as a single-source edible strain. We could all use a pick-me-up. Durban moved from 16th place in the western US to 12th.
Glitter bomb
Compound Genetics glitter bomb. Indica hybrid. (David Downs/Leafly)
We said the Glitter Bomb strain would explode in 2024, and yes, it's at No. 30, up from No. 33 in October. Glitter Bomb is one of the most glittering trees from the breeder Compound Genetics. This relaxing herb has a loud, grape-like flavor. It is a cross between Grape Gas #10 and OGKB Blueberry Headband.
Cake cream
This is the weed to impress your hometown friends with. Piescream is a blend of Wedding Pie x (Gelato #33 x Cherry Limeade F5) for a dessert flavor with candied cherry lime pastry. Piescream has risen organically up the charts over the past two years. It is now one of the top 500 varieties on the West Coast and one of our favorite Thanksgiving varieties. We just saw a phenomenal cut of this from Sense Cannabis in SF. Piescream also won six medals at the 2024 California State Fair Cannabis Awards. There is no Thanksgiving without Piescream.
Dante's Inferno

Smoke comes quickly in our house – Tropical Juice Box, a cross between orange juice and pear radish #4. Expect a delicious tropical fruit smoothie with flavors of citrus, sugar, mangoes and pears. A nice, mood-enhancing sativa high also includes gentle vibrations and body relaxation.
Sweet with sparkling wine
Fresh in the Leafly database, the Terphogz seed catalog – popularizers of the original Z. Notable this month – their new collaboration with Kounter Kulture – Dulce Con Gas. It's a clever mix of Lemon Cherry Gelato x Crop Duster and packs cost a hefty $300. LCG remains a top 5 national bestseller, and Crop Duster is said to be a cross between Daily Driver and Chem D that is particularly spicy. Detroit Diamonds
Compound Genetics is releasing 26 new crosses to its popular, sparkling weed Eye Candy. We look to Detroit Diamonds for a strain that expresses pure aesthetics. Detroit Diamonds is (Pure Michigan x Baby Shark) crossed with Eye Candy and should be a killer.
Sour peaches
Sour Peaches delivers the best hash the folks at Purple City Genetics will smoke this winter. It's a cross between their hit hash dumper Moroccan Peaches and the classic New York strains AJ's Sour Diesel. Sour Peaches grows into huge plants with a hash yield of 6 to 7% – so keep an eye out for it. It should be hybrid and strong with a tart, caramelized peach note.

Empanadas Diez from A Golden State
Empanadas Ten. (David Downs/Leafly)
A Golden State grows large-scale indoor buds in Shasta County, California. At the top of their Christmas lineup is Empanadas Diez – a cross between Purple Churro and Cinnamon Horchata. If you want to relax after dinner and get ready for a game for dessert, try this dessert variety with notes of banana bread, elote, berries and cream.
Bale on a budget
Sour Diesel by Alpenglow
Lots of great Sour Diesels arrived with the harvest. But the standout is a Sour Diesel Bx4 bred by Garden of Grease Seeds in Oregon and grown organically by Alpenglow as an outdoor, live, full-grown plant. A half ounce of it is sold out at Solful for $100, making it a stunning, best-selling, budget option that isn't here to stay. Just make sure you have the right setting and location for it. It has 31% THC. “It's damn strong, you have to be careful. It’s just fast.”
High note
We close with some Fuerte. (Sasha Beck/Leafly)
Storz and Bickel Venty
The name “Venty” refers to the 20 liters of air per minute that this pocket volcano can heat. “Venti” is Italian for 20. And it has vents. Get it. (Courtesy of Storz & Bickel)
Get vaccinated against flu and COVID, even if you're strong as a bull. You can save yourself a secondary infection and a second week in bed. If you've already been bitten by the virus this year, consider giving your sinuses and lungs a smoke break with a flower vaporizer. Heat flower steamers instead of burning the flowers to achieve the same effect. The makers of the famous Volcano vaporizer have launched a new portable ripper called Venty. You can pack it thick and full, it heats up in seconds and breaks up quite large clouds with great effect. The battery life is also oversized. Another medical bestseller from the German market leaders Storz and Bickel.
OK – that’s Leafly Buzz for November 2024, full of trees we would personally pack during our pre-dinner “cousins walk.” You bring the mints with you.
