July 2022 Leafly HighLight: Ice Cream Cake variety

The scorching month of July begs you to lose your calm. Leafly says: Cut it out. Grab a bowl of Ice Cream Cake and chill the eff for at least another afternoon.

All types of smokers – from common heads to novices – have made Ice Cream Cake one of the top 10 American dispensaries of 2022. It’s beautiful, award-winning, and has conquered America in four years.

A modern classic like damn Beyonce – Ice Cream Cake is July’s national Leafly Highlight.

Since 2018, this combination of the two champs, Wedding Cake and Gelato #33, has been appealing to people in all US shops.

“Thick, sweet, vanilla, creamy, minty, cookie cravings,” says the nose. Ice Cream Cake reviewers left sleepy, relaxed, and hungry notes, and they report that it works for pain, anxiety, and insomnia.

Americans have met this dessert variety in every imaginable way. We see Ice Cream Cake from Sea to Shining Sea in joints, bowls, blunts, infused blunts, carts, pods, live resin, live rosin, rosin and even tinctures. Huzza.

Now. Some weed snobs always say, “ice cream cake is over”. In fact, popularity drives prices and quality down. But many elite growers still run ICC because both they and their buyers damn love it.

Case in point: scoreboards don’t lie: Ice Cream Cake has an average of 4.6 points out of 5, based on 923 reviews since 2018. She is considered an indica hybrid with Starlink-level THC effects that are calming and calming. Bring plenty of water, don’t operate heavy machinery, and get comfortable mentally and physically.

The best ice cream cake pops out of the glass and the creamy-sweet vanilla smell can dissolve into big puffs of fuel/gas. All of this comes from the GSC and OG Kush family genes.

“Holy shit. Have smoked religiously for about 12 years. Few tribes have hit me like this. Insanely powerful. Relaxation and pain relief are pronounced. As happy as can be,” says one Leafly reviewer.

Long summer days can become stressful and sleepless. Not when you hit that cake.

“Absolute anxiety blaster and great for sleeping. My anxiety gets pretty bad at night and prevents me from sleeping and it works on both fronts. 100%,” said one reviewer.

Weed, lest we forget, is fun too. So if you’re watching TV, smooching, or unwinding, Ice Cream Cake works.

“I packed up my bowl and sat on my bed, not feeling much while watching TV, doing my usual thing and wondering why I hadn’t felt anything yet. And then I realized that I was watching TV in Spanish all the time. (I don’t speak Spanish) Have a good session! :)”

“Absolutely next level. The guys out in Cali are NOT joking. Taste, smell and the high are all dazzling. This kit will knock any new smoker’s socks off.”

Ice Cream Cake Seeds

This is a strain you will want in your garden. (Sheet)

Los Angeles-based world-leading breeder/breeder Seed Junky Genetics originally sold ICC as seed, resulting in today’s bumper crop. But Seed Junky Genetics is not selling Ice Cream Cake seeds at the moment. Instead, fake cakes abound, especially overseas.

For better results, Seed Junky Genetics sells Cake Crasher (Wedding Cake x Wedding Crasher), which crushes them. Dark Heart Nursery in California has – Gelato Ice Cream clones on tap. Yummy. And North Atlantic Seed Co has a basic ICC car from the Humboldt Seed Organization.

Both the Wedding Cake and Gelato #33, the parents of Ice Cream Cake, are champions in their own right. Ice Cream Cake took home their most notable trophy in 2019 for 1st place in The Emerald Cup Mixed Light category, submitted by breeder Josh D (OG Kush popularizer).

Ice Cream Cake Terpenes

(Sascha Beck/Leafly)

Not only is Ice Cream Cake great for its icy white appearance and cooling THC levels, but it also has a trendy mix of aromatic molecules called terpenes. Laboratory tests show that many samples have average high levels of caryophyllene, limonene and linalool; also with myrcene.

These strong gassy fuel smells can sometimes combine into a contrasting aroma – velvety, smooth, sweet vanilla; especially in the Triangle Kush lineage, which is where much of this pot comes from.

For the real experience, shop fresh ice cream cakes in the 2% plus range for terpenes.

More highlights this July

Ice Cream Cake ran out? Don’t worry – here are three more campout and barbecue flavors for July.

asks Donny BurgerWith this one, no milkshake and fries are required. (David Downs/Leafly)

We support the ongoing nationwide hype surrounding the Donny Burger – which can smell funky, pungent, cheesy and hearty and will make you one with a beach chair. Donny Burger is for GMO lovers – a mix of GMO cookies and Han Solo Burger. (Han Solo Burger himself crosses GMO with Larry OG F8, so it’s got lots of great GMO genes that do what we love.)

Skunk House Genetics bred Donny Burger and released her at the Michigan High Times Cannabis Cup in 2017, where she started to gain traction. Follow the funk from skunk house to hybrid effects that leave reviewers giggling, happy and excited. Top terpenes: pinene, caryophyllene and humulene.

Keep the campout lit with Watermelon—a strain that has become more of a flavor profile than a genetic at this point. The original, mythical Watermelon OG has produced many hybrids: Watermelon Kush, Watermelon Sherbert, Watermelon Punch, and Watermelon Zkittlez. They are generally indica hybrids that can offset the summer sadness with sweet, tropical, grape, and berry notes. Prepare to meet three of our favorite gnomes: Sleepy, Hungry, and Laid-back.

cherrycakeIt is YOUR cherry cake! (David Downs/Leafly)

Last but not least, the super classic cherry pie in July. Cherry Pie has 171 reported descendant strains spanning eight generations: Forbidden Fruit, Trophy Wife, Pie Face, Carbon Fiber, Forbidos,… It’s in carts, good and bad flowers, tinctures and live resin. If there’s cherry pie in it – we’ll dig in.

Breeder Pieguy’s creation first received a review on Leafly in 2011. Cherry Pie was popularized by breeder Jigga for Cookies and rapper Berner, and heralded Girl Scout Cookies. Cherry Pie clones, a mix of GDP x F1 Durb, only moved in narrow underground circles. But its giggly, happy, arousing hybrid effects and berry, sweet fruit flavor is what made Cherry Pie go mainstream.

And those are the flavors for Leafly HighLight July. stay chilly
