To make your pot taste better

After cannabis has been harvested, there are still a few things you can do to improve its flavor. (You’ll need an airtight glass jar, such as a mason jar, to perform some of these tips.)

  • Food-grade essential oils: If you want to try using essential oils, make sure you only use high-quality essential oils or food-grade essential oils that are made for human consumption. Others are meant to be diluted or applied topically. When it comes to flavor, look for lemon, peppermint, lavender, chamomile, eucalyptus, or orange.

With a quality essential oil, you can put a few drops on a cotton ball and then stick it on the lid of the jar. Place your stems in the jar and leave it there for a couple of hours, being careful not to let the ball touch the flower at all. Check the jar occasionally for signs of condensation or moisture as this can cause the buds to rot, although it’s best to also air the jar every now and then during this process to reduce the risk of mold.

  • Food Extracts: Convenience stores usually already carry some types of food grade extracts that are a great and inexpensive way to make your weed taste better. Vanilla extract is one of the most popular and commonly used extracts, although you can also try strawberry, rum, and almond extracts.
  • Alcohol: If you have a favorite alcoholic drink, perhaps a great tasting whiskey or wine, you can also try to mimic its taste in your buds. Soak a cotton ball in your favorite drink, then stick it on the lid of a mason jar for a few hours.
  • Fruit Bowls: For those who want to add a flavor of fruit or spices to the pot, the good news is that it’s that easy. Lemon, orange, or grapefruit peels can add a delicious flavor to cannabis when smoked, but it’s best to dehydrate the peels first. This would reduce the risk of mold growth.
  • Other Dried Flavorings: There are a variety of other dried flavorings that you can add to the jar such as: B. flower petals, dried spices such as cloves, cinnamon and rosemary. It is best to fill the loose material into an unused and empty tea bag. In this way, the aromas and the cannabis are separated.
  • Flavored Drops: If your favorite neighborhood pharmacy sells flavored drops, check them out. These drops have been specially formulated to give cannabis a great flavor and taste when smoked. Simply place a few drops either on the rolling paper or directly on the cannabis. There are so many delicious options including blueberries, chocolate, cinnamon sugar and more. This is the easiest way to add flavor!
  • Tea leaves: tea lovers, rejoice! You can infuse cannabis with the flavor of your favorite teas. Make a tea joint by emptying a tea bag and adding some to your joint or bowl. Tea leaves are a fantastic flavor alternative as the tea leaves are usually cut evenly so they burn around the same time as your weed.

However, when experimenting with flavors on cannabis, remember that different strains have different absorption rates for these enhancers. We recommend experimenting with small amounts first until the results are more predictable and easier for you.

What to avoid

While there are many ways to enhance the flavor and aroma of your cannabis, there are some things to avoid such as: B. the use of sugary ingredients. Sugar is not an ideal companion for anything smokeable, including marijuana. So stay away from flavors that contain a lot of it. Not only does it smell bad, but sugar burns extremely easily. Other sugary ingredients to avoid are molasses, soda, maple syrup and honey.

Also, avoid exposing your freshly flavored cannabis to air for long periods of time. These new flavors can easily fade, and if you don’t use them all after the process is complete, store the bud in an airtight jar.

Other ways to improve the taste of cannabis

If you grow your own marijuana, be sure to dry the buds slowly. Drying cannabis too quickly can contribute to a pungent, unpleasant taste and smell.

The taste of cannabis usually improves when exposed to constant temperatures. It will always do well at temperatures around 70F when drying, but in any case they should not go above 60F to 75F. These temperatures prevent terpenes from burning off, while slightly higher temperatures protect against mold growth. For this reason, most cannabis growers ensure that temperatures are always around 70F when drying cannabis.

Also remember that you should avoid touching your plant during the growing process or even during storage. If you touch your cannabis bud, it will affect its levels of trichomes, which are responsible for storing the terpenes that give it its aroma, among other important functions.
