Bongs Joints Dabs | Fifth Ave Green House

Everyone has their preferred way of smoking marijuana. Some people like the classic, leisurely feel of smoking a joint. Others prefer deep lungs full of smoke from a bubbling bong rib. Lots of people like the heavy rush of THC and rich terpene flavors that emerge from a swab.

However, some recreational and medical users don’t care how the marijuana gets into their bodies, but how fast and powerful the effects are. If you fall into that latter category then you’ve come to the right place because on this blog we want to answer, “Which method of using cannabis is most effective? Joints, bongs, or dabs?”

If you are not familiar with marijuana

Remember, marijuana affects people differently. Your “most efficient” method is the one that gives you the best experience. Finding this out may require some experimentation (in the name of science) so you can refer to this article as a guide.

Joints

Joints are perhaps the easiest and most portable way to consume weed, but how well do they work when it comes to getting the THC from your joint into your brain?

According to an international forensic study, the availability of cannabinoids in the lungs from drinking a joint is up to 30%. However, it is impossible to get every bit of smoke into your lungs from this joint. Some smokers believe this will decrease the overall effects as cannabinoids are lost in the air.

In addition, smoke from a joint that contains all of the burning plant and paper material is much harsher than smoke filtered through water. This makes it harder to take a deep drag on a joint without coughing up cannabinoid smoke afterwards.

Bongs / water pipes

We’re still a long way from having enough peer-reviewed scientific studies of marijuana use to be sure. However, when it comes to effective ways to consume marijuana, many people believe that bongs offer cleaner, more powerful hits than joints.

One reason for this is that the cooling filtration through the water allows for larger cracks. Unlike joints, most of the smoke in your head is drawn by the water in your bong and is not released into the air. Percolation also enables long, deeper inhalations. This will release more cannabinoid-rich smoke. Once you’ve cleared the chamber, the cooled smoke can hit your lungs deeper without causing much irritation.

A study by MAPS / NORML in 2000 showed that smoke from bongs contained 30% more tar per cannabinoid than joints. This showed that joints (in this study) had a surprisingly low tar content of 1:13 cannabinoids. The results were made more difficult by the researchers’ use of a weakly potent strain with only 2.3% THC. The study authors also found that tar consumption could be reduced by five times if the stronger variety were consumed. Pharmacies offer cannabis strains with 15 to 25% THC.

The study also confirmed some anecdotal reports about the effectiveness of bongs in filtering toxins and other harmful substances from smoke. The researchers found that filtering water can absorb non-smoke toxins.

This is why correct percolation is so important when pulling the bong. You want to filter out as many of the irritating compounds in smoke as possible while breathing the maximum amount of THC and other cannabinoids into your lungs. The best way to do this is to make sure the water level is high enough to filter out the smoke (but not too high to splash in your mouth). Read our other article, How much water should I put in my bong? for a detailed answer on this.

If you have the cash, you can make sure you get your money’s worth by purchasing good quality hookahs that maximize seepage.

Speckle

If you’re just starting out with cannabis, dabs can be a very intimidating method of consumption: dab tools, butane blowtorch, and glowing metal.

However, if you’re looking for the most efficient ways to consume cannabis, it’s worth tackling the learning curve.

There is no doubt that concentrate is superior to herbs in terms of pure potency. It’s right in the name. Whether BHO oil, wax, shatter, rosin, rosin, bubble hash or other extracts, THC is concentrated in amber-colored gunk, which gives it a higher potency.

Dabbing is the concentrated version of a bong in many ways. It uses a slightly different type of water pipe (called a dab rig) to cool vaporized cannabinoids by pulling them through the water. Unlike marijuana pipes, however, you don’t burn the flower to release these cannabinoids and terpenes. Instead, use a hot surface to vaporize them.

The resulting vapor is much stronger than bong smoke. In addition to filtering out almost all of the plant material during production, the concentrates contain between 50 and 95% THC. Dry herbs usually contain up to 30 percent THC at best. Because cannabinoids are vaporized rather than burned, the chemical reaction of the flame does not burn cannabinoids and terpenes.

In the same international forensic study, researchers found that cannabis concentrate had 75.5 percent lung availability, compared to 26.7 percent for dry herb. In other words, dabbing sends three times as much THC and other cannabinoids into the lungs.

The more THC there is, the more it can absorb.

While more research needs to be done to further examine the effectiveness of cannabis consumption methods, what has been shown so far appears to be consistent with anecdotal evidence.

diploma

When it comes to the most efficient way to get the most THC into your system, dabbing is the way to go. For some cannabis users, this is the most important part of cannabis use. For others, the most important thing is not to maximize their THC percentage, but to maximize their enjoyment.

If recording a joint makes reading a novel more interesting, do this. If a deep bong hit helps you relax from a tough day, go for it. Cannabis was developed to make people feel comfortable and comfortable; It’s up to you to decide how best to use it.
