He recently released the music video for the single “Cuz I’m High,” the official remix of his classic “Because I Got High,” which brought rapper Kid Lennon to the public, also with YHK Destin.

Before rapping about smoking, Afroman rapping about sagging. “The first tape I made was about my eighth grade teacher,” said Afroman. “She kicked me out of school for sagging my pants, which was a big deal back then. So I wrote this song about her and it sold about 400 copies: it was sold to teachers, students, almost everyone. And I realized that even though I wasn’t in school, my song was in school, so in a way I was still there. All of these people came to my house to comment on how cool they thought the song was. “

Afroman’s classic “Because I Got High” was a huge hit, gaining fame after appearing on the Howard Stern Show and the Jay & Silent Bob Soundtrack. Not long after, Afroman joined the line-up of Cypress Hill’s “Smoke Out” festival with the Deftones, Method Man, and others, not to mention headlining The Gathering of the Juggalos in 2010.
